History

Barangay Goma was founded before World War II and originally a part of barangay Digos, Sta. Cruz early in 1949,this sitio was transformed into a

barangay and assumed the name Goma after the junk tire led by the Japanese soldier in the place after world war ii. Bagobo’s were the first settlers in

barangay goma in the year 1900 and followed by significant number of cebuanos who has a considerable influence in the place, they led together with the

bagobo’s submitted a resolution for the formulation of “FFF” Free Farmers Federation led by Domingo Alferez petition a portion of Esguerra cattle ranch

for the barrio site. The place was name Goma because it was place were rubber tire of Japanese soldiers were junk. Goma was declared one of the barangay

of Digos at this present.

My warmest greetings to the City Local Government Operation Officer of Digos and the Provincial Local Government Operation Officer of Davao del

Sur.

The steadfast of Barangay Development Plan (BDP) duly implement among our society . The challenges that we encounter in the performance of our

duty remind us that we the servant of the people should always behave on the manner that benefits our office that we represent and be a role model to the

community. We the community leaders that represent the grassroots of political structure of the government should always remind ourselves that we are

here to serve for the great benefit of our people.

This is an instrument social equity reassures as that we can established the just society that the people of barangay Goma deserve .

To my constituents we shall march forward and more equitably progressive barangay.

Brgy. Goma is located 7 kilometers Northwest of Digos accessible one (1) kilometre through Digos-Cotabato road and 6 kilometers north via Tres de Mayo-

Goma Barangay road. Goma is the bounded in the NorthWest by barangay kapatagan,in the northwest by sitio Balutakay. In the west by Barangay Balabag in

the East by barangay Binaton and in the Southeast by Barangay Dulangan and in the southern part by Barangay Ruparan. The Balutakay river lies between

Barangay Goma and Barangay Balabag and this serves as their territorial boundary. There is still another river that lies on the Goma between bBarangay

Binaton and Dulangan. Another river named Napan travereses along the center at the part of barangay area which bounded Sitio Napan and Goma Barangay

proper.

Description of the Barangay


Brgy GOMA is located at the Province of Davao del Sur Region XI in Digos City,with land area of 3,200 hectares of agricultural land,and was created with
Executive Order # 236 by the President of the Philippines.
Social Sector
Low Crime Rate, in Brgy. Goma has decreased since the insurgency left in the area ,in terms of out of school youth Brgy.Goma also access

to ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM for them to learn and provide a practical option to the existing formal instruction. The presence of BNS, BHW

has also a big role in the barangay to survey and monitor the needs and problems of every constituents. The strong support of the ARMED

FORCES OF THE Philippines and Philippine National Police against violence and violators of the Law.

Because of high collection rate of Realty property Tax Barangay Goma was awarded as Top 10 as High collection of Realty property Tax,

because of abundance of quality products in the barangay land area, many of the products were easily to be marketed, and the presence of rice and

corn mill that can generate income.

Infrastructure sector

Presence of water source in the barangay that help the constituents for their sanitary problem , on-going concreting roads from

crossing Napan to Mahilak falls 8kms.,

Environmental Sector

Presence of eco-friendly tourism that can attract many tourist and can generate income to society and presence of prospective investors

on hybrid power plant. With vast of agricultural area and fertililty of the lands the output are the quality agricultural product.

Institutional Sector

With the supportive and competent Brgy. Officials that can create ordinances, resolution for the general welfare of the community
within the barangay,well organized Barangay Based Institution.

6 to 14 years old who are not attending formal school; and family members 15 to 24 years old who are currently out of school, not
gainfully employed, and have not finished college or post-secondary course.

Drug use can lead to lowered productivity due to occupational diseases and injuries, higher health care costs, spread of infectious
diseases, and family breakdown,because of illegal drugs.

Inadequate availability of health care vary from country to country and include political, financial, and physical barriers, especially the lack of an
adequate infrastructure to deliver the benefits of drugs. The barriers are such that they can be addressed only through concerted action by national
governments, bilateral donors, and multilateral agencies, together with the private sector and non-governmental organisations.

Children suffering from under-nutrition or stunting have increased risk of contracting diseases like acute diarrheal syndrome, acute
respiratory infection and anemia, and those with severe under-nutrition are more likely to die from illnesses caused by complications.
Children who are stunted in the first two years of life are also more likely to repeat grades, delay school entry or drop out of school.
