Summary of the Project to show the different stages of the project implementation:

Pre-planning:
 Since elementary, I have been very active in scouting. As I proceed in high school, my
seniors were always talking about applying in Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme. I was
inspired. I tried applying when I was in Grade 10 but sadly I can’t balance my studies
and my project so it wasn’t successful. But when I heard my colleagues were applying, I
was again inspired by them until I realized that applying in such will improved my skills
in helping the community. I come up with this project because I want to improve my
skills or help the community to have a very comfortable and relaxing place to chill. First,
we seek information on the Purok and Barangay Officials to what are the possible
projects to do. Next, we gathered data. And then, we build a work group and informed
them about my project and then asked for support.

Planning:
 I started my project by thinking what is really needed to contribute in the community.
Next, we informed the Purok and Barangay Officials about my Beautification of the
Purok Center. Then, asked for support from them. From my supportive family, we
gathered the materials needed, plants, old tires, and also paint to be used in the
project. And also to my supportive relatives, I asked for financial support. Lastly, we
finalized the date when to start the project so that I can ask my work group to help me
with my project.

Implementation:
 I started with cleaning the area first and removing the unnecessary things around it.
Cleaning the area was the exhausting part because we were picking the trashes in the
middle of sunny day. Second, is the building and painting of the Purok Center. I gave my
best and work harder in implementing my project and in keeping the plants alive by
visiting and watering them twice a week.

Turning over of projects to the community leaders:

 After implementing my project, I turned over the responsibility to the Purok and
Barangay Officials and also to the community, so that, they can also help in maintaining
the cleanliness and also the beauty of the area.

Evaluation:
 The evaluation happened first week of May. The Monitoring Panel checked and
evaluate the area and also asked me questions about my project.

Preparation of reports:
 I was the one who prepared my report but also with the help of my troop leader. She
was the one who guide me and also instruct me to what to include in the reports.
Making the report was quite hard for me because I sometimes procrastinate plus I also
have to do my project for my subjects in school.

Personal experience/s, significant contributions to the community and the lessons learned in
carrying out the project:
 I was already a member of the Girl Scout since elementary until now. It was already 9
years to be exact. Experiencing this type of movement helped me improve my skills in
talking in front of the people. It was my first time in a barangay session where I talk in
front of them about my project. This movement taught me to be helpful, to be mindful
with the environment, to be responsible, and many more.
Since I am a Senior High student, this project is challenging for me because I need to
balance my project and my studies. This project also gave me so many problems in the
middle of implementation. And also pressure that I was feeling because of the fast
approaching deadline.
I realized that if you love what you’re doing, you’ll get the result that you wanted.
Applying in such movement give me an achievement that is worth-remembering and
worth the time and effort.

Application of learning
 I learned about taking care of plants. Being aware of the
importance of plants is important, so that, we have the
knowledge on how to take care of them. But wattering the
plants is not enough for them to grow well. For the plants to
grow well, they need someone to take care of them. So, we
need to be responsible and patient in keeping them and
maintain its beauty.
 Throughout this project, I realized that the importance of
plants is very important in our lives and also in our
environment. Plants helps us in reducing carbon dioxide
aroud us and also in reducing soil erosion. Plants help us
conserve the soil. Plants also provide a place for animals to
find their food. And also plants provide shade, help in
controlling the temperature and protect animals.
 I have now the courage in talking in front of the people and
giving suggestions in the community. My confidence in
talking in front of many people is improving. I also enhance
my public speaking skills.
 I have now the ability to help the community when they need
some volunteers to clean the surroundings.
 I am now capable of organizing a work group and also form
a team who can help me in cleaning the community willingly.

Effects of the project to the

community
The project has a lot of effects in the community. It gives
impact to the community and to the people who were staying in
the area where the purok center is located. Because of the
ambiance that is truly relaxing and refreshing to see and because
of the beauty of the purok, the people around the purok were very
thankful and grateful. There were also happy that the purok was
renovated. The purok center is now one of the spots where the
people relax and chill. And it is now ready for use for the meetings
of the purok officials.

As a student, I inspire others to help the community. Even at

a young age, I can still give improvement to the community and
have the ability to make change even without power.

The effort that I exerted in this project gives the satisfaction
of making a differences through helping the community. The final
result of this project is one of the great accomplishments that I
pursued. That even at the young age, I already achieve
something big that gives impact to the lives of the community and
also to me. And I know that in the future I will be proud of this
accomplishment. It was worth my time and effort. Doing this with
determination and perseverance made the project successful.

I was so grateful that the community appreciated my project.

I made so many realizations since I started this project. And this
project taught me lessons and made me a better person that I will
bring and remember until I will get old.
