Served meals to the homeless/less fortunate – Volunteering with the Hamilton Mission Services was a humbling experience and allowed me to give my time/services to those who are less fortunate than I. I gained experience in communicating with a wide variety of personalities and ages.
Canadian Cancer Society Halton Unit (2011-2013)
Sold daffodils at various locations to raise incremental funds for the Canadian Cancer Society – Actively participated in on-site activities for Relay For Life events in Burlington, including motivating participants, assisting in the Survivors’ and Food tents, runner for miscellaneous tasks, and handing out coffee and tea all night to participants Being able to volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society was very humbling and heart-warming. By volunteering for the Halton Unit, I was able to give back to my community and try t increase funds for a charity that is very near to my heart. I gained experience working with a wide variety of people, including patients with cancer, survivors, family members, and community members.
Optimist Club of Flamborough (2011)
Server and Greeter – Served breakfast to community members in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise money for the Flamborough Optimist Club; ensured a swift flow of meal preparation and service. By volunteering for the Optimist Club, I was able to serve as a community member of Flamborough and support a local club. I was a dancer for 15 years with Dancemakerz, so volunteering my time as a dance teacher’s assistant allowed me to give back to the studio.
