My decision to apply for master program in Earth System Science at the

Prince of Songkhla University is driven by my strong desire to comprehend
scientific approaches that are related to preventing and solving natural disaster
problems and managing natural resources and environment.
I have a number of experiences which would help me successfully complete
a master program at Earth System Science field. I obtained a Bachelor of Science
at the University…., Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with Physics as
my major. Furthermore, I have been working as a laboratory assistance at mining
engineering department at Syiah Kuala University. Based on these experiences I
have gained the necessary basic knowledge to study Earth System Science at
University …...
After Tsunami on December 2004, the Government of Aceh is in dire need
of handling systems and solving problems of natural events. Current
developments of natural resources in Aceh also require human resources that are
competent in terms of processing and reclamation. It is that encouraged me to
pursue my master’s program at University …... The University … itself has
purpose to develop new knowledge and technologies that will help solve these
problems. I am very excited to join the incoming class at the University …... It has
qualified teaching-staffs and the best subjects also offered in Earth System
Science.
As far as I know, the master’s programme of Earth System Science is
design for whom intend to specialize in preventing and solving natural events
problems and managing natural resources and environment. Natural events and
environmental problems are major causes that harm continuance of global
development in many aspects.
The University ….. has new established department that really needed by
the Government of Aceh, there are Mining Engineering and Geophysics
Engineering. After I complete my master program, I would have more advanced
knowledge and skills in Earth System Science. It will give me a good chance to
expand my career as a scientist and lecturer at my home university.
