Mission:
The mission of Gardens Elementary is to
provide a positive learning climate
where children are taught skills and
processes that will last a life time.
Gardens Elementary is a diverse school
with an enrollment of approximately 700
students. Community and parental
involvement are high due to a variety of
school events, offered throughout the
year. About 90% of the students at
Gardens Elementary school are
economically disadvantaged. Forty-five
percent of the students are ELL and
eighty-nine percent are Hispanic. Ten
percent of the students are enrolled in
special education.
Gardens Elementary is a Title I school
with over ninety percent of the students
considered at risk.

Students and staff at Gardens
Elementary have been working hard to
achieve the campus vision. Last year the
campus received an overall met standard
state rating. The goal is to continue to
close the gaps and improve academic
achievement for all students.
4TH GRADE CONNECT
Vision:
Connect is self-directed learning through
the teaching of successful habits. We
value teaching students how to learn
more than what to learn by focusing 70%
of our efforts on skills that the brain uses
to think, read, learn, remember, reason,
and pay attention.
Classrooms are been transformed by
implementing a personalized learning
model. Fourth grade students at Gardens
elementary are at the center of their own
learning. Students are empowered to
become self-directed learners and
develop the habits, mindsets and
behaviors that lead to academic and
personal success.
Students visit Austin to speak to state
representatives about Connect Personalized
Learning Program.
