    Dear Parents,  
     
    This year gifted students at CMS will do Passion Projects in the I/E period. 
    Each student will be placed in one I/E rotation to work on his/her project.  
     
    Passion Projects are a student-driven, process-centered opportunity for 
    students to explore their own interests. Students will identify a challenge, 
    problem or question they would like to explore. During the next few weeks, 
    they will plan, manage and reflect upon their learning, with a focus on the 
    process of inquiry. This process allows students the freedom to think 
    independently, take risks, and learn from their attempts.  
     
    Student work will be presented at the Passion Projects Fair, which will take 
    place in December. As soon as the date is finalized, I will let you know. If you
