Introduction

When working with people in my group is just wonderful because I get to be able to gain experience
and get to talk with them about the project. I feel much more confident when working together
because we can split jobs among members which are much easier.

1. Research

1.1 Personal Research

Based on all of my time for all of my global perspective course, I have been doing reading lots of
website online to see how I can make a good video for my group outcome. I also watch some video
to see the best program to make a video too rather than sticking with online researches often. I
also have to watch some videos about bilingual and also about the identity issue of the person who
moves to another country. And also, I did an interview with my group through the online call with
Dr Karine A. Lespinasse she is an expert in third culture kids. During the interview ask questions

and get the answer to be able to get further facts and knowledge about the language and
communication.

1.2 Work Ethics

I am a friendly person which helps me to be able to work together as well as communicating with
the team members both on campus and off campus such as social media to stay in touch and ask
for help with the project. I always provide good ideas and I love to contribute to the team. I am an
active listener which helps me to be able to provide feedback. I am also an active person which
helps me to stay motivated to work efficiently. I always set goals for this project to help me to stay
on task and succeed. I know that all of my work for this subject always brings me to success
because nothing is impossible in my opinion. I have good behaviour which doesn’t affect my team
members working experiences at all. I am also a calm person which give me the opportunity to
work.

2. Outcome

2.1 Outcome’s Description

The videos are divided into 2 sections. One is the introduction of how languages are important and
also how we should prevent the language from disappearing. The second part is based on the
animation videos it shows two scenarios. The first scenarios are the conversation between the
mother and the daughter and the second scenarios are the conversation between the daughter
and her friends in school. Besides my group also has built a website to show the information more
clearly and also to promote our project to the world by publishing them on our website so people
can come to the website and see our project and learn from them.

2.2 Outcome’s Effectiveness

The strengths of the outcome help people to understand more about our topic and to preserve their
cultural further by speaking in many different languages based on where they are from. The
weaknesses are that the video might be a bit distracting because we are not able to remove the
watermark in the animation video. I really hope that this outcome could help people in future and
even myself because I could tell my children in the future about my project and how languages are

important to cultures. The treats that our outcome may give are some bilingual children might be
offended of speaking in both languages.

3. Gained Expertise

3.1 Cultural Perspective

What I learn from this issue based on my secondary researches (2018) is that I have observed that
many people are bilingual and speaks more than 2 languages. Most people responses prefer
speaking in English rather than communicating in their native languages. They mainly said because
they are able to communicate with many people internationally and they are comfortable and relaxed
when speaking in English. But some prefer speaking in their native language because they are able
to express their emotion better and they are able to speak fluently. It also helps children whose
parents are half this country and half another to bring the cultures together by trying different food
from this side and another side. It could help them to study languages too.

3.2 Team Work

When I work as a team, I get to contribute many ideas on what should add for our outcome and
provide feedback on my members work so far so we can fix them together to make them perfect. I
love to talk to many different people so working in a team is not a big problem to be at all because
I am able to communicate and work happily with anyone.

3.3 Performance

For me, being in a group brings many advantages and disadvantages because I get to learn from
my team members based from their experiences which I can learn more from them and maybe
use them in the future. I also get to work independently depending on the jobs that my team splits
us into. I don’t have to worry too much about doing all the work by myself because that might be
stressful. Being a group helps really helps me to contribute many good ideas to the group and to
provide feedback on how we should implement our ideas together in a group to make a good
outcome. The disadvantages of me being a group can be distracting by going off track watching
videos which I shouldn’t. Or click on an advertisement that is attracting to me.

Conclusions

I really hope that this project can make people remember about my project is to always remember
that languages are important to keep the culture and languages alive. Without its languages may
often die due to the lack of usages and not many people remember how to speak them.
