NOTIFICATION
MAHARASHTRA ANCIENT MONUMENTS AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES AND REMAINS ACT, 1960.
No. Smarak 2013/C.R. 126/Cul. III.— Whereas, the Government Notification Tourism and
Cultural Affairs Department, No. Smarak 2013/C.R. 126/Cul. III, dated the 6th August, 2013, the
Government of Maharashtra had given two months notice of its intention to declare the ancient
and historical monuments specified in the Schedule appended hereto (hereinafter referred to as
“ the said monument”), be a protected monument ;
And whereas, the Government has not received any objections to the making of such
declaration ;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 4 of the
Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Mah. XII of
1961), the Government of Maharashtra hereby declare the said ancient and historical monument
to be a protected monument.

Survey No. 33/1
Name of the monument to be : Yashwantgad.
Protected
Ownership : Shri. Arun Vasantrao Redkar.
Particulars : The Yashwantgad fort situated at Sukalbhat, Taluka
Vengurla, District Sindhudurg was built by Aadilshah
of Vijapur in 16th century. In the year 1662 Chatrapati
Shivaji conquered this fort and gives the name
Yashwantgad. After death of Chatrapati Shivaji,
Fondsawant of Sawantwadi capture this fort. They
mainly used this fort for robbing the ships travelling in
nearby sea. In 1899 British army capture this fort
Fondsawant and used for salt storage and police station.
The fort is divided into the two parts viz inner and outer
fort. To reach the inner fort one has to cross three
gateways, one chowk and one mote. The main
architecture of the fort has been change several times
and shows the influence of Islamic, Maratha and British
architecture.

NOTIFICATION
Table
2 New IT or ITES units satisfying the criteria referred to the entry 1 above 15 years
and established under the said Policy in the State other than those parts
shall be exempted from payment of electricity duty.
3 The new IT or ITES units and Data Centers in IT SEZs, new IT or ITES Permanently.
units and Data Centers in IT Parks in SEZs, and 100 % exporting IT or
ITES under registration of STPI or other designated compentent authority
shall be exempted from payment of electricity duty.
4 New Data Centers Units registered with the Director of Industries as 10 years
defined in Para 5E of the Maharashtra IT or ITES Policy-2015 and as per
the provision of Para 3.4 (b) of the Government Resolution, dated 25th
August 2015 established inside or outside the IT Park, in A and B areas of
the State, classified as per the prevailing Package Scheme of incentives at
the time of commencement of production or activity of the unit shall be
exempted from payment of electricity duty.
5 Data Centers as defined in Para 5E of theMaharashtra IT or ITES Policy- 15 years
2015 and as per the provision Para 3.4 (b) of Government Resolution, dated
the 25th August 2015 situated in other than those areas of the State referred
to in entry 3 and 4 above shall be excmpted from payment of electricity
duty.
Note.—(1) The exemption under this table shall commence with effect from the date when the
unit specified in the said column (2) start production or rendering the services.
(2) The electricity duty shall be exempted for IT parks developed by IT companies for
their own use i.e. single units parks for the period mentioned above as per the location
of the park.
(3) The exemption from payment of electricity duty shall be given to the projects mentioned
in the notification ouly after producing registration cerificate of Directorate of
Industry or Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) or Competent Authority.
