In consonance with the country’s celebration of Womens’ Month, this school conducted activities for the
2017 Celebration of National Womens’ Month with the theme “We Make Change for Women”.

The celebration was initiated by the GAD coordinator, Mrs. Lani M. Olan, together with the teachers and
pupils of this school. The celebration aimed to inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs
and services to promote a change in every human of the society specially the women. This celebration also created
and facilitated platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges and implementation of the Magna Carta of
Women. It also empower all the girls students to be an agent of change and contribute this change to the school and
community.

Among the activities were essay writing contest, poster making contest, jingle making contest and film
viewing of the movie “Titser”. This enable the pupils to know the challenges of the society specially for the teachers
of the small community.

San Juan Elementary School have 8 female teachers and it only resembles that empowered women were not
in the four corners of their homes but they can make a change for the betterment of the pupils and the entire
community.
