MODERN DANCE

MECHANICS:

1. Members of the group must be bona fide high school students of Jose Maria College.
2. Each group will perform with a time limit of 3-4 minutes. Beyond this limit, five (5) points will be
deducted from the group’s total score.
3. Each group must have a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 15 members.
4. The choice of music (one song, two songs, remix, etc.) shall be upon the discretion of the group
and must be approved by the head committee.
5. Music with hateful words, explicit utterances and sexually-suggestive lyrics during the
performance is a ground for IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.
6. Cross-dressing and indecent costumes are not allowed.
7. Demeaning and erotic choreography are strictly prohibited.
8. The members of the group may be composed of all males or females or a combination of both.
9. Indecent costumes and lewd choreography are strictly not allowed.
10. The dance number must have an accompaniment of any music which is modern and lively.
11. Dangerous stunts, pointed or edged materials, firecrackers and other risky effects are not allowed.
12. Violation of any of the mechanics for this event is a ground for disqualification.
13. Four winners will be declared: Champion, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runners up respectively.
14. Hiring trainers for choreography will be disqualified.
15. Declaration of winners will be during the awarding ceremonies.
16. The decision of the judges is final.

 Choreography (Creativity, Artistry,
Style, Originality) 50 %

 Execution (Timing and Coordination,

Projection and Expression) 30 %

 Costume 20 %
