Government Shutdown

I’m not much of a political person, but when I saw this topic arise in our society recently,

I decided it’s something I wanted to really dig more into and really get some information on this

topic. Yet, since I’m not much into political situations I thought this would arise a good

opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and try a topic that’s a bit different than what I

am normally used to. I know that politics is one of the most talked about in this day and time.

Sometimes people arise me with conversations about the political situations that are going on

around me and sometimes I’m just not quite sure how to answer them. In this, I think it would be

a big step out of my comfort zone.

So, in that, if you’re not big on politics like me, you may be a bit confused on why there

is a government shutdown and why this is actually the longest government shutdown in history.

Let me explain why and give you some more information and what direction we are heading. A

government shutdown in the United States is when Congress fails to pass certain bills and trying

to find other resolutions for funding through government operations. It can also mean when the

President refuses to sign bills. Basically, Trump wanted Congress to sign a bill of law concerning

building a wall, and Congress did not agree. In that, the government lost their funding and had to

shut down. I personally believe before even digging deeper into this topic that I disagree on

building a wall, and there could be other solutions on keeping illegal immigrants from coming

over to the United States. For Example, In Germany they had the Berlin Wall. Yet, people still
found ways to escape. If it means through digging tunnels, etc. If people really want to escape

they will find other ways whether its through building a wall, or by not building one.

What I hope to find out more about this topic is all the different parties and what the

republicans believe a certain way and why the democrats believe a certain way. I know that most

republicans agree, but my question is why? Also, really dig into the information on that. Also,

why does the Democrats disagree and why? Another question that comes to mind when

discussing this topic is why doesn’t Trump think about other solutions from keeping people out

of the country rather than just building a wall? Thinking about that People will escape whether

there’s a wall there or not and looking at what happened with the Berlin Wall in Germany that

eventually had fell down. Just personally seeing what Trumps full opinion on this topic and what

his viewpoint is on all of this controversy that is going on.
