LESSON PLAN HLTH 1202

LESSON ORGANISATION (based on: AC:HLTH)

Intention: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to successfully demonstrate at least 5 gymnastic skills whilst using a
rhythmic gymnastics aide
Pre-lesson organisation:
- Check the weather
- Check safety of location (bees/ants/accessibility)
- Bring out equipment and first aid
- Pre-set up circuit
Equipment: (Based on 32 Students)
- Speakers
- iPhone
- 32x dots
- 6x Mats
- 9+ Skipping ropes
- 9+ Ribbons
- 10x Dodgeballs
- Whistle

9:04 WARM UP – NATURAL DISASTERS WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE  Teacher should walk around

 Number students 1 – 4 and get them to line up behind a row
 Begin activity
9:12 ACTIVITY 1 – CIRCUIT WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE  Teacher should walk around

CHANGE IT UP

 Row 1 – Balance
o Try balance the ball
on 3 body parts for
10 seconds each

standing on one foot
o Choose a different
balance pose each
turn and try do a
different formation
with the ribbon
 Row 2 – Locomotion
o Side gallop up and
down whilst throwing
and watching the ball
o Try to skip up and
down the hall
o Any locomotive
movement up and
down with the ribbon
 Row 3 – Spring
o Throw the ball up and
do a jump before you
catch it – if you feel
more advanced you
can do a jump and a
spin
o Try jump forwards,
backwards, and
criss-cross with the
skipping rope
 Row 4 – Rotation
o Forward roll down
wedges with dodge
balls (small) between
feet
o Whilst skipping with
the skipping rope, try
spin in 5 circles
o Do a pivot whilst
holding the ribbon
trying to make it go in
a big circle
9:25 Bridging organisation:
(2 mins)  Stop the activity with a whistle

 Partner everyone off (based on behavior) and designate equipment
9:27 MODIFIED GAME – MINI ROUTINE WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE  Teacher should walk around
