someone wanting to know more about your specific major: My major is
Mathematics with a minor in secondary education. This article investigates
the process of becoming a mathematics teacher within a professional
development program. It gives good insight into why some teachers do not

❖ A short statement on why you think this article would be helpful for
someone wanting to know more about your specific major: My major is
Mathematics with a minor in secondary education. This article discusses the
importance of using technologies in mathematics classrooms, which for me
being a secondary mathematics teaching major is important to know. The
article states “mobile technologies and apps offer fresh opportunities to re-
envisage some aspects of the mathematics learning experience and enhance
students’ engagement and mathematical thinking.” This being the
technology era teachers must stay up to date with the newest technology
available out there to use in their classrooms and therefore I believe this
would be a helpful article for someone to read if they wanted to know more
about my specific major.
