Reduce Theft and Losses
Theft and product loss is a major aspect of a company losing money on a daily basis.
Whether it is a small chocolate bar, or a bottle of medications, theft affects your business.
Not only do you obviously lose money, but you lose trust from your employees as well as
producers. They want to ensure that their products are being sold properly to maintain
economic stability for their own company. Canadian retailers lose approximately 3 billion
dollars annually to crime and theft. Much of this number can be prevented. Whether it is
through loss prevention, cameras or guards, the opportunities are endless to stop theft.

Jones, a retired police officer who wanted to
decrease petty theft in his community. Through
his connections, he was able to develop a
master plan into one of North America’s
strongest security firms. The word “Stamina”
translates to long-term strength. Mr. Jones
wanted businesses to be able to have long-term
security through his services, while keeping
more money in the pockets of his clients.

What Makes Our Guards The Best
Intelligence and Mental Awareness
Although security guards are known to be tough and strong, in order to succeed, they
also need to be intelligent and aware. Whether it is knowing what to do in certain difficult
situations, being able to train your employees or even be able to recognize events that
are out of the ordinary, our guards take a lot of time fine tuning their skills. Knowing how
to handle the right people, as well as knowing the right level of force is crucial as a guard.
Solid communication is important as well. Being able to speak confidently with
employees or customers will definitely make all feel safe.

Proper Attire and Defence

Our guards are always in uniform, and equipped with the proper defence necessary. In
Canada, Peace Officers or Security Guards are not allowed to be armed in a retail
environment. However, we equip our guards with legal equipment such as batons and
pepper spray in order to protect customers, employees, or themselves in case of
emergency. Our guard’s uniforms are very clear and recognizable, as all customers and
employees should be able to know who they are at all times as well.

Additional Training
Whether it is weapons, bomb threats, intoxicated customers or even just a young
shoplifter, our guards are always putting in the time to learn and train for the future. All
guards employed by Stamina Security must put in ten hours of additional training paid for
by the company to adapt to the evolving industry. For example, mental health has been a
growing topic. Our guards recently attended a mental health workshop, as well as
learning how to help customers in distress, or who may be suffering from a mental
illness. A lot of the training is physical, but a lot of it is also very practical and analytical.

Louis Jordain has been the chief security guard for Toronto for the last five years. His loss prevention skills,
as well as his physical force while working makes him an industry favourite. He has helped apprehend
over 50 shoplifters just this year across multiple stores in Toronto. He is very excited to work in retail
pharmacy, as he is intrigued in what this industry has to offer. His skills will definitely put you on top.

Walter Jackson has worked with Stamina Security for ten years, with his main skills being pharmacy
security. He has done extensive research into mastering how to reduce theft, as well as the common ways
that products are damaged in retail pharmacy. Being the daytime guard, his role will be quite fulfilling. He

Barry Jones is a retired police officer out of Toronto’s Special Investigations Unit. After retiring from being

a police officer, he wanted to find a new passion associated with law enforcement. Barry has been a major
asset to Stamina Security’s guard team, as his knowledge of law and past experience has made him one of

is an outstanding security guard.

great quality, easy installation as well as experience in the industry. Lorex is very
reputable by many security pros and are considered the best of the best.

360 Round Camera

This camera is the most common in a retail environment, as it’s 3D versatility and simple
installation makes them optimal for your business. These cameras have been proven to
decrease theft by 20%! Not only is the quality great for viewing customers or employees,
they can be placed nearly anywhere across your store. Whether it is on the ceiling, or
even on a store rack, the electrical output is very simple compared to other cameras
offered by competition. These cameras are all also connected to a single software that
can be easily viewed on your work computer at any time.

Outdoor Camera
This camera is perfect for outdoor environments such as outside of doors, by windows,
or at drive-thrus. The lense guides a clear view of all people in sight, as well as being

All About ADT
For over 140 years, ADT has made the security of their customers top priority. Today,
more than 18,000 professionals in over 200 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada
ensure that our 8 million customers stay as safe and secure as possible. ADT takes care
of installation and repairs of their product, as well as coming in at least once a month to
ensure that all alarms are functioning well. If an alarm sounds, law enforcement is alerted
immediately, as they also have a 24 hour toll free line that can be reached at any time if
your alarm sounds but there is no threat prevalent.

Entry and Exit Point Alarms

Being ADT’s specialty, these alarms are crucial for any retail store. These alarms are
important for ensuring burglaries do not occur. Having these alarms at entry and exit
points, if someone were to break in, all alarms would sound immediately and law
enforcement would be alerted. These could also be added in the back of your retail store
(warehouse) to ensure that receiving points are not broken into as well. If someone were
to enter this point, a lot of product loss could occur, as employees could also become at
risk. These cameras are easy to install and perfect for your business.

Scanning Alarms
These alarms are very important in a retail environment. These innovative scanning
alarms can track items that have not been paid for if they exit the store. These scanners
are very easy to install, and are perfect for your entry and exit points of your store. They
are interconnected with your inventory database to be able to track what has been paid
for as product exits the store. If a product does exit the store and was not paid for, alarms

time and effort, using these skills will ensure that your employees do their best, with more
money in your pocket.

Loss Prevention Training With Your Employees

We offer loss prevention training once a month with your employees to ensure they know
the proper practices of retail. Reducing shrinkage is very important amongst employees
is crucial to a successful business, and employee performance will improve. This training
is two hours long, and certification is given afterwards. This helps your employees also
learn very valuable communication skills that can be used outside of the workplace. This

Using Jonathan Walton’s Data Loss Prevention and Loss Prevention guidebook,
employees can always have the proper procedures and guidelines right in front of them.
With this, there should be no excuse for shrink occurring in your workplace. These books
are given free of charge to your employees, and are a great resource for retail work.
