“I aced that test!”

“How do you always

do so well in
classes?”

Academic
SUCCESS!
Did you know...
Each class period averages
out to cost you around $20 if
you’re an in state resident, an
$84 if you’re an out of state
resident? Skipping class is
a big waste of money!
How can you
make the most
out of your class
time?
Sit in the front!
It will make you pay attention more,
make you more recognizable to the
instructor, and make the class feel
smaller!

Use a three ring binder for notes

This way, you can slip in notes later

from missed classes. Keep dates at
the top of each page, and use a new
page for every day!
Try the Cornell Method of
notetaking:
Write 1. 1. Take your notes on this side.

and rephrase concepts in your own words.

without)
Make sure you go see
your instructor during
office hours!
They like students (that’s why they
teach!) and would like visitors. Plus, the
more you get to know the, the more
likely they are to help you. Office hours
are the best times to get the individual
attention most students feel is lacking in
college level courses.
Treat school
like a day job!
When you leave for classes in the
morning, don’t come back to the hall. If
you have a break, go to the library or the
student center and study. If you use the
“in-between times” effectively, you will
have much more free time!
Good Luck!
You’ll do great!
