Bruce

Bruce is ten and wants to be a famous swimmer in the future. So he joins a course and he
has to do regular exercises.
Bruce has to get up early in the mornings and have a light breakfast. He mustn’t drink milk
when he has training because he can’t swim well. So he generally drinks hot herbal tea. His
father takes him to the pool every morning and waits for him there for three hours. Then they
go to school. He comes back at 3 p.m. and has a rest for a while. He must study his lessons till
dinner because he must go to bed early. He seldom goes out with his friends.
Today is Sunday and Bruce is on the phone and talking with Jack.

Jack: Let’s go to the cinema tonight, Bruce.

Bruce: Sorry, Jack. I can’t.
Jack: Why not?
Bruce: I’m tired and I must sleep early because I have to get up for the training at 6 a.m. as
you know.
Jack: How about Wednesday?
Bruce: Oh no! I have an exam on Thursday, so I must study for it. Why don’t we go out next
Saturday? I’m free that night.
Jack: Good idea, Bruce. See you at 5 p.m. next Saturday then.
