Abstract
Khushal Khan Khattak is considered to be the pioneer of creating almost all standard
genres in the history of Pashto literature. Alongside various other genres, the credit of
creating the so-called “Prison Literature” also goes to him. It is that type of literature
which represents the “Wave of the poet’s or author emotions behind bars jotted down
via the pen onto the paper”.

Although Khushal B┐b┐ has created a lot of prison literature in both prose & verse. In
this paper, not only such “qa╖┐’id” of Khushal B┐b┐ have been pinpointed that he has
written in the Mughal prison but also their historical background, explanation of the
underlying facts & the art & technique of “qa╖┘dah” have been given a touch in the light
of research.


