Scott Shankel has been
named head football coach
at Reed City High School,
taking over for Monty
Price, who took the same
position late last month at
Belding.
Shankel has been a part
of the Coyotes’ program
for the last 14 years and
spent the last eight as
Price’s defensive coordina-
tor and “right-hand man.”
Shankel wasn’t sure
he was ready to step into
Price’s shoes but he’s ex-
cited nonetheless.
“The kids without a
doubt…they wanted me
to stick around. I was get-
ting a lot of it from every
direction,” Shankel said.
