Technology Integration Form – PRESENTATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
Selected Technology/Resource Name: Age/Grade Level: Technology/Resource Type:
Glogster 9th- 12th grade

Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.

Student ISTE-S Standards that best align with this app are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative
Designer, and finally Computational Thinker. I believe most of the ISTE-S standards apply to this website because students are
able to be empowered learners by creating a virtual poster that effectively communicates content and in order to do that one
must learn and experiment with the site. Students become digital citizens as posters can be easily saved and shared to anyone
allowing students to use this website and others responsibly. Students become knowledge constructors and innovative designers
as they construct their posters and accounts to their liking and style. Finally students practice being computational thinkers
because they use technology to build upon their learning.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Glogster is a free and easily accessible website that students and teachers can create elaborate digital posters which can then be
shared with others. Glogster does a great job at providing students with creative tools to help take their posters to the next level
with ways to build posters, add pictures, videos, audios, and much more.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PRESENTATION

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students’ presentation/speaking/communication skills?

I would use this in my classroom in many of my lessons because students have a creative space to get their creative spirits flowing
and effectively presenting what they have learned in an advanced level poster. Rather than poster boards and markers, I see
myself using Glogster when students have analyzed, read, interpreted, and studied a topic and choose to include them in their
demonstration of their learning. What I mean by include is link or past the video, picture, or even audio to their digital poster for
those looking at it have a way in which to go to that source directly. This website is a great way for checking in enduring and
understanding because it gives students a chance to creatively demonstrate what they have learned. Students also demonstrate
their ability to correctly use online technology tools such as Glogster which is a skill to have for the years beyond my classroom.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would give this website a three because it aligns with many standards including content and ISTE-S standards. Glogster also
transforms a lesson into a creative one because students create their own posters and share them including embedded videos,
links, pictures, and audio resulting in a higher level poster demonstrating growth in knowledge rather than a simple poster with
markers. Finally Glogster is student centered because the students create what they believe will best demonstrate their learning
while hitting expectations, standards, and skills that benefit them outside of the classroom.
