Ans: Allah’s Messenger hassaid that ‘paradise is under the feet of mothers’.
It hadith shows the rights of mothers. Serving them leads to paradise. To
disobey them is forbidden (Haram). Obey your parents. Never say ‘No’ to them
for something they ask you to do.

5.What made the Quraysh lift the ban put upon the Muslims?
Ans: FIRSTLY:
A group of fair-minded Quraysh, led by Hisham ibn ‘Amr, hated this unfair
boycott. SECONDLY:
Hadrat Abu Talib had come in Ka’bah and facing the Quraysh, told
them that Allah had revealed to the Prophet ﷺthat termites had eaten the
parchment inside the Ka’bah. They saw that it had been destroyed. Its only
remaining words were “Bismika Allahumma”. Their only concession was to end the
boycott. The Muslims were allowed to live in Makkah once again.
6.Which two sad events took place in the life of the Prophet Muhammad during
this period?
Ans:
1- Abu Talib had suffered greatly through the boycott. He was already very old.
Shortly after returning from the valley, he became ill and died.
2- Hadrat Khadija رﺿﯽ ﷲ ﻋﻧﮩﺎ, who also became very ill. Her age was 65. Abu Talib
had just recently passed away and now Khadija had also passed away.
2- KHADIJAH
Khadīja bint Khuwaylid was the first wife of the prophet
Muhammadﷺ.
She is commonly regarded as the “mother of the Muslims“.
She was the first person to convert to Islam.
she died in the age of 65.
her grave is in Makkah.
Ans: The leaders and the chiefs of Taif treated the Messenger of Allah( )ﷺvery
bad and against the moral, cultural and social values.

Ans: The Prophet ﷺwalked on, the crowd followed him. They abused him and
pelted him with stones as he tried to walk. He was forced to take shelter in a
private garden.
What was the condition of Prophet Muhammad ﷺas he sat to rest under the shade
of a vine?
Ans: Prophet Muhammad ﷺwas wounded and bleeding, tired, shoes sodden with
blood, he sat under the shade of a vine to rest.

Ans: The son thought his father had kept that dry grass to keep the palace
fragrant. Now that fresh and better grass had grown, there was no need to keep
the dry grass left by his father.

Ans: A black serpent bit the boy to death. In fact, the grass possessed two
qualities. It smelt sweet and had a quality which kept the snakes

of trees fall in autumn. Allah loves those who offer Salah perfectly.
“Allah the Most High says: I am to the servant according to His thought
concerning Me,when he remembers Me; I am with Him. When he remembers Me to
himself, I remember him to Myself; when he mentions Me among a group, I mention
him among a better group. If he comes towards Me one span; I come towards him an
arm’s length; if he comes towards Me an arm’s length, I come towards him one
step; if he walks towards Me; I go to him at speed”.

refused to believe the tale of the wolf.

OBEDIENCE TO PARENTS
Ans: That night a band of merchants came journeying by the well where Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ
اﻟﺳﻼمlay. Feeling thirsty, one ofthe men came up to the well and let down his
bucket to draw water. He came up as the water drawer pulled the bucket up.
4, Why did the merchants take Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم with them?
Ans: The merchants carried Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم with them into the land of Egypt for
sale as slave.
Ans: Al-Aziz took Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمhome, He asked his wife to treat him kindly. He
said “We might perhaps take him for our own son.”

Ans: LIFE OF YOUSUF ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمIN THE JAIL: The keeper of the prison liked and
trusted him. He let him take charge of other prisoners. They showed him respect
and were very pleased with him.

Ans: In the time of Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم people worshipped things besides Allah. They
had made different gods of their own. the sun-god, the god of oceans, the god of
food etc.
4-How did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم feel about it? What did he do to teach people the true
Faith?
Ans: Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم became sad about it.
He ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم decided lo guide his fellow captives towards the true faith.
5-How did Yousuf explain to them the meaning of their dream?
Ans: 1-The one who saw himself pressing grapes into wine will be set free. He
will
go back to his high office and will serve the king.
2-The other who dreamt himself carrying breads on his head will be hanged”
Ans: One night the king of Egypt dreamt. He saw that seven miserably thin cows
ate up seven fat cows. ‘He saw that seven miserably dried ears of corn
swallowed up seven green and full ears of corn.
9-How did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم explain the king`s dream?
Ans: Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمsaid: “The seven fat cows and the seven full green ears of
corn are the seven years. The seven thin cows and seven dried ears are also
seven years. There shall be seven years of plenty in Egypt f then will come
seven dry years of famine.
10 What solution to the problem did he suggest to the king?
Ans: Yousuf suggested the solution to the problem that in the years of plenty,

the king must build up store-houses and granaries, and pile up food against the
years of famine.
A THING TO REMEMBER:
The Holy Qur’an is not a story book. The story of Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمas presented
by the Our’an is never a colourful account of his life. The Our’an, however,
uses it as an example of Allah’s direction of men’s affairs. Allah has full
control of men’s affairs. We, the human beings, cannot find its depth. The
judgement, as to what is to happen rests with Allah. Arid those who do good,
Allah always Help them.

Ans: After an enquiry, the king set him free. He gave him a high position in

king.
2-What sad things did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم observed around him as he gained power in
the land?
Ans: following things made Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم sad;
the officers and the people around him were wicked and”dishonest.
They did not do their duty well.
There was sinning and violence.
3-In what way is man ,responsible in bringing about the shortage of food?
Ans: Allah has given us on earth all that we need. There is plenty of food. But
it is
man who brings about a shortage by his greed for more and more and his wasteful
habits.
4-How did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم build up reserves of food grain? What was its result?
Ans: He built huge store – houses, and stored away all the food the people did
not need. In this way, Egypt faced a big famine successfully.
5-There had been, however, one sorrow at Yousuf’s () ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمheart? What was
that? How was it removed?
Ans:The sorrow at Yousuf’s () ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمheart was that in Canaan, the famine was
more sever. Allah Subhanhu made arrange for this that his brothers also came to
get corn.
6-Why did the ten brothers come to Yousuf? Did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم recognise them?
Ans: One day Ya’qub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم told his sons:
“I hear there is Corn in Egypt.
Go down and buy for us”. So, Yousuf’s ( ) ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمbrothers came to Egypt to buy
corn. He knew his brothers.

Ans: When Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمsaw Bin Yamin, He wept for joy. He made him stay in his
own house and said to him, “I am your brother Yousuf”.
3-Discuss Yousuf’s( ) ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمplan to keep his brother Bin Yaamin with him.
Ans: Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمordered his men to put his drinking cup, inside Bin Yaamin’s
sack,” he told them.
Then an announcer called out, ‘People! we find that a drinking cup of the king
is missing.”
The cup was found.“The man in whose sack my cup is found shall be my slave,
others may go back in peace”.
4-What was its effect on Ya’qub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم ?
Ans: Ya’qub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمwas stunned to hear the tale of Bin Yaamin. He knew his
dear little son well. He could not be thieving. He was filled with grief.
5-What did Yaq’ub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم advise his sons? What lesson should we learn from
this?
Ans: Ya’qub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمsaid to his sons, “Go and try to find out Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم
and his brother, do not lose hope in the mercy of Allah.” We should never loose
hope .
6-When and why did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم tell his brothers who he was?
Ans: When he saw his brothers, he could not control himself.
7-How did they receive this news?
Ans: The brothers were terrified. Their faces grew pale. They also felt sorry on
what had they did.
8-Did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم forgive them? Why? What lesson does this incident teach us?
Ans: Yes, Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمforgave them because he was the true Prophet of Allah
All-Mighty. We should also try to forgive others.
9-How did Ya’qub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم become seeing?
Ans: When the shirt of Hadrat Yousaf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم was touched to his eyes, Hadrat
Yaqoub ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمbecame seeing.
10-How did Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼم rule the country after the happy reunion? What was his
last desire?
Ans: Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمruled according to the commands of Allah. He worked hard to
make people mindful of Allah. He ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمdid not want to be raised in the
hereafter merely as one of the kings. His desire was to leave this world as a
true Muslim.

Allah guided Yousuf ﻋﻠﯾہ اﻟﺳﻼمin the well not to fear nor lose heart. Allah was
with Yousuf in all his sorrows and grief. ‘ Wonderful are the ways of Allah.
His plans are wondrous! When Allah want to save one, no one can bring harm to
him. Jealousy makes people’s lives bitter. Those who want to spread goodness in
the world should themselves be good. If someone decides to keep away from
shameful things and sincerely acts, Allah surely help him. Trials and troubles
are the means of success for man if he bears them with patience to please Allah.
The troubles of this world, however hard, would come to an end one day. The real
comfort is the comfort of the next Life to come.
Those who believe in Allah and His Messengers will be rewarded by Allah for
their good deeds in the Life after death. But often Allah gives believers
comforts, wealth and high position in this world also. But this should not turn
their minds
away from Allah. They should bow down before Allah, thank Him for their comforts
and do good to the people. Prayer is the greatest source of strength for an
obedient
servant of Allah. » Judgement rests with none but Allah. “It may be that you
hate a thing the while it is good for you; and it may be that you love a thing
the while it is bad for you, and Allah knows whereas you do not know.” The
righteous men of Allah forgive the bitterest of their enemies. They do not harm
anyone merely to take revenge. They punish them only when it becomes quite
necessary for the sake of Allah.

4-Abdullah ibn Umar ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽ ﻋﻧہ

He was Umar‘s eldest son. Abdullah ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽ ﻋﻧہٰ رﺿﯽ ﷲentered Islam together with his
father ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽ ﻋﻧہ
ٰ رﺿﯽ ﷲ. He took part in the battle of the Trench and in most of the
the later battles. He was very honest and pious. He was considered as one of the
greatest men of his time as regards Hadith. He died in Makkah in 73 H, at the
age of eighty-three.
