Elements to Help Identify Theme

Directions:
In this assignment, you will be identifying what characterization, plot, conflict, and theme
are to help us find the theme in the novella we will be reading next, “Lord of the Flies” by
William Golding. The links for each website where you will find the answers to the questions
are provided for you under each heading (Note: Under characterization there are two links and
I have provided additional instructions to access the information you need for the second link).
Answer the questions directly on this page and print it out to bring with you to class for
discussion. Assignment must be submitted online through the link on the Webercise Page.
Some questions ask you to work with a partner to come up with the answers. Be sure to
discuss and come up with an answer together for those questions. Read the questions carefully
and be sure to answer everything that it asks for full points. Be sure to pay close attention to
the information you write down because you will use this information to write your own story
after we have read “Lord of the Flies”. This assignment is worth a total of 30 points.
