LEARNING - A form of adaptation, mode of adjustment, and change in behavior.

 The mental activities by means of which knowledge and skills, habits, attitudes and
ideas are acquired.
 A concept describing changes in behavior
 A continuous activity

LEARNIG PROCESS

 Receiving information
 Accepting or taking in the information
 Assimilating
 Storing
 Applying

HOW LEARNING TAKES PLACE

1. Classical Conditioning <Ivan Pavlov>
 The simplest form of learning
a. A type of learning in which an organism learns to connect or associate stimulus
I. Neutral Stimulus <NS>
 Stimulus that do not result any response
II. Unconditioned Stimulus <UCS>
 A stimulus that automatically produces a response without any prior learning
III. Unconditioned Response <UCR>
 An unlearned response that is automatically elicited by the UCS
IV. Conditioned Stimulus
 A previously neutral stimulus <NS> that eventually elicits a conditioned response after
being associated with the UCS
V. Conditioned Response <CS>
 A previously neutral stimulus <NS>
b. Before Conditioning
NS <bell> -------- NO RESPONSE <no salvation>
c. During Conditioning
NS <bell> -------- UCS <fool> ------- UCR <salvation>
d. After Conditioning
CS <bell> -------- CR <salvation>

2. INSTRUMENTAL CONDITIONING

ASSOCIATE LEARNING
 CLASSICAL CONDITIONING
 OPERANT CONDITIONING
 Instrumental Learning
1. COGNITIVE LEARNING
 INSIGHT LEARNING
 AHA or EUREKA Moment
2. SOCIAL LEARNING
 OBSEVATIONAL
 VICARIOUS
Variables test leads to efficient learning
1. Meaningfulness of material
2. Distribution of practice
3. Whole and part learning
4. Imagery of learning
5. Feedback (knowledge of result)

ACOUSTIC – SOUND

VISUAL – IMAGE

SEMANTIC – MEANING

MOTIVATION

 An internal state or condition that activates behavior and gives it direction

 Trigger behavior
 The force behind behavior

THEORIES
1. Hendoism
2. Rationalism
3. Instinct
4. Freudian
5. Drive – Preduction
6. Homeostasis
7. Incentives
