SCHEDULE H – SCHEDULE OF DAYWORKS

In accordance to Clause 11.6(d)(ii) of the Conditions of Contract together with Amendments to


Agreement and Conditions of Building contract, work which constitutes a variation to the Contract and
which cannot be properly measured and priced in accordance with the rates allowed in the documents
shall be valued on a daywork basis. The daywork rates to be applied as a priced hereinafter and which
are deemed to be the nett cost of materials and labour inserted herein plus ten percent (10%), which
shall cover for the use of all ordinary plants, tools, scaffoldings, as well as for site and office overheads
and profit.

Rates for Site Agent and Assistants shall be deemed to be included in the cost of site overheads. On no
account shall the rates for a class or grade of labour higher than that which the Superintending Officer
or M&E Consultant considers necessary for the nature and character of the works to be carried out be
allowed.

Where special mechanical plant or equipment are necessary for the execution of work on daywork
basis, the Contractor shall obtain the approval of the Superintending Officer or M&E Consultant for use
of such plant and equipment. In any such event, however, the daywork rates for such special plants,
tools or equipment shall be agreed prior to commencement of work.

Rates for hand tools shall be deemed to be included in the labour rates. The use of power driven tools
shall be paid in accordance to the foregoing paragraph.

Payment for dayworks shall be on the basis of actual time spent in executing the works. For the
purposes of valuation, a “Day” is defined as a normal working day of eight (8) hours. Where only part of
a day is spent, payment shall be on a “Pro- Rate” basis.

The Contractor shall keep daywork sheets recording the works executed, the type or class of labour
employed and time spent. All daywork sheets as well as vouchers for materials and goods used shall be
endorsed by the Clerk-of-Works or Superintending Officer or M&E Consultant within one (1) week of
completion of the works carried out under daywork basis. The daywork sheets and vouchers so
endorsed shall be submitted together with the Contractor’s claims for dayworks to the M&E Consultant
for valuation.
