A Strategic Facilities Management Framework: A Malaysian Case Study
A Strategic Facilities Management Framework: A Malaysian Case Study
FM is a resource management at strategic and operational levels of support. It should be considered from the strategic view instead
of an operational view where the integration and alignment of non-core services required to operate and maintain a business fully
support its core objectives. This research aims to develop a Strategic Facilities Management (FM) Framework, taking into accounts
the organisationʼs business plan together with its accommodation or facilities strategies. This is to promote the role of FM in delivering
a high level of operation support to the core business as there is an absence of process to link core business and FM strategies. This
research will look into the FM market in Malaysia, where FM growth is still immature and a strategic approach in managing facilities is
highly required. It will be based on mixed method design, a combination of survey and case study methods. The Strategic FM
Framework is anticipated to serve as an essential tool for a business organisation to enhance their service delivery strategic FM.
