Logan County Office of Emergency Management—Paris, Arkansas January 14th, 2019-April 10th, 2019
Intern
o Responsibilities: completing and attending trainings, copying/scanning paperwork, assembling
information booklets for various persons, organizing and labeling files, and attending meetings.
o Responded to the ANO test calls, participated in a National Weather Service conference call, been
called out to a Tyson chicken gut truck flip, traveled to the radio towers that the county owns,
attended the Arkansas Oklahoma River Valley REPC leadership meeting at the 188 th Air Force Base,
and helped pick up and distribute Red Cross assistance supplies.
o Assisted Logan County's Director of Emergency Management in developing an LEPC. I also assisted
the AR OK RV REPC in creating a way to pass important information and documents between all
entities involved in the program.
o Added and updated information on the Logan County OEM website: https://logancountyoem.org/
o Participated in the updating of the emergency operations plan for the county.

o Assisted the coordinator of the camp set up the command center, took attendance of all the
emergency responders as they arrived on site through the day, and set up the exercises that were
prepared for the emergency responders.

Volunteer—Because We Can
o Volunteered with the daily food recovery program that Because We Can started on campus.
o Volunteered at the Pope County Christmas Toy Run and Chili Lunch for the Pope County Foster Care
Coalition. This also included the Veterans of Foreign Wars association from Pope County, since they
donate a large amount of the toys.
o Baked goods and helped run the bake sale stand in order to raise money for the Russ Bus, which
donates money to the homeless population in Pope County.
Volunteer—River Valley Children’s Advocacy Center
o Volunteered through my Introduction to Hospitality class to spend my class period cleaning the
RVCAC. I was teamed up with one other person from my class, and we swept, mopped, vacuumed,
cleaned bathrooms, and cleaned the windows.
