3.1 Listen to, read and respond to literary works

LEARNING STANDARD :

LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to;
1. Understand and tell in own words the poem heard and read
and give one’s opinion of the text
2. Explain the message the writer is trying to convey and discuss
how this relates to one’s life
3. Recite poems with feeling and expression

CROSS CURRICULAR ELEMENTS :


ACTIVITIES:
I. PRE-LESSON 1. Students recall their previous lesson.
2. Students predict what will happen in the third and fourth
stanzas.

II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT :


1. Students recite the stanzas with feeling and expression
2. Students find out the meaning of words by using dictionary
(Pair work)
3. Students retell the stanzas in their own words. (Round Table)
4. Students complete the comprehension task.

III. POST- LESSON :

1. Students reflect the issue (memories with their loved ones)


and share their experiences with the class.
