1. The online course I’m teaching in for this activity is asynchronous class

2. In this online activity, my online students will use a simulation on icivics to have an
individual experience based upon their unique choices. Each child’s end result will be
different, and I will grade them online by if they followed directions and wrote a
paragraph on what they learned about the importance of voting.

Pedagogy
Icivics will have the students take apart of an election and then
vote the importance for the topics throughout. Since this class
is asynchronous class the students will complete the
assignment without meeting with the teacher.
The students will go to the website and from there they will
be:
1. Login using their school emails
a. If you do not login you will have to finish the
assignment in one sitting.
2. Click “New Game”
3. Read each text bubble, then click continue
4. You will be asked to answer a couple of questions on
“how the candidates can help?” It’s your job is to click
on one of the three topics/questions that you think the
two candidates can help.
5. When you click on one of the questions/topics. Click
“Confirm” to move forward.

6. Next the two candidates will have a text bubbles above

their heads and you have to pick a candidate that you
agree with the most.
 7. When you side with a candidate, you have to vote on
how important that topic to you.
8. Continue steps 4-6 until you’re finished
9. After you have completed the questions/topics, you
will brought to a voting booth
10. You will vote for what candidate you will vote for
11. Whoever you vote for a debate review will pop up so
you can review before you lock in your vote.
12. After you have complete that you can print out the
certificate.
13. Write about why you think voting is important to you,
and what you learned while going this voting
simulator.
