1.1 FORMAT

D 1 D = 1 - Fault codes. Refers to the Service System (SES), the Advanced Communication
2 D 3 9999 System (ACS), the Data Communication System (DCS), the Radio Control
D4 System (RCS) and external alarms (EXT)

1.2 FUNCTION
Fault codes 1-540 represent alarms that are generated by the basic system. The following table
describes the meaning of the alarms.
If the Control Application/Trading Application is present, also fault codes 700-767 are generated by
the system.

Fault codes 1-127 refer to the Service System. For explanations, see parameter description for
FAULT CODES IN SES, CODE .
Fault codes 257-484 refer to the Advanced Communication System. For explanations, see table in this
document.
Fault codes 513-540 refer to the Data Communication System. For explanations, see table in this
document.
Fault codes 700-767 refer to the Radio Control System. For explanations, see table in the document
fault codes for CA/TA.
Fault codes 769-1023 are specified by the user. Only external fault codes are allowed in the command
ALEII .

In this case a signalling message is sent to cooperating exchange and an acknowledgement


message is expected, a time supervision will be started. The alarm will be generated when the
time supervision elapses. The message will be repeated until it is acknowledged or the alarm is
cleared.

assigned to any time slot within the concerned signalling link set.

An error has been detected in the ANCD information flow between nodes.

The interface between the PABX and the information system is supervised with respect to status
(fault code 282), quality (fault code 281) and character processing (fault code 298 and 339).

Alarm 339 detects if the signal number is faulty, the checksum is not OK or the signal length is
wrong.

The fault code occurs when there is a problem with the VCU board. There are two different
kinds of faults that can occur.

• If there is a transmission fault, the No-End-to-End synchronization fault occurs.


• If there is a hardware failure, either Receiver over-run or Transmitter under-run occurs.

A fault is detected when a Dual Access Extension is connected to a board other than an ELU28/3
or ELU33.

The fault appears when the ISDN side of Dual Access Extension is initiated in wrong board
type.

The alarm will be generated when the continuity check has failed twice or more. The alarm can
be cleared in two ways. Either by letting the execution of the test continue, with a check every
two minutes, until the check is successful, or by interrupting the test with command ALREI .
Both ways will clear the alarm and unblock the individual.

The alarm indicates that the delay and/or the packet loss in the IP connections using an IP device
board are unacceptable (end to end lag > 100 ms and/or packet loss > 2%).

The alarm remains until new measurements report that in a 10-15 seconds lag the quality of
service can be considered as acceptable.
