RAPE

RAPE- a four letter word yet so dramatic and scary for any girl
out there. Good morning one and all, today I am going to
deliver a short speech on one of the most crucial topics related
to us which probably needs much more attention than it
received since nothing much is changing.
Did anything ever changed after so much has happened. Have
we forgotten India’s daughter, Kathua or Unnao’s case?
Women are still being raped at levels that nobody has ever
seen before. We see protest’s going on every day out on the
streets, yet nothing has changed. Those five months old are still
being raped and with such instruments you cannot even
imagine! (Anuradha Roy quoted “The India I grew up in has
gone. These rapes show a damaged and a divided nation”). And
I don’t think anything is more truer than that lately since our
ladies live in a complete terror of getting raped every single day
out there on the streets whether it’s a single mother or a
daughter supporting her entire family. (It is a shame to see
India scoring worse than war-torn countries like Afghanistan or
Syria or Saudi Arabia where women have very few rights )and
so everyone expects more from a country like India which is
why it shocks everyone. There are thousands of cases which are
not even reported and ultimately the victim faces all the
consequences and is hold liable for her own rape. Mass
number of people are still fighting in hopes to get justice for
their daughter’s. But it’s not just the culprit who is to be
blamed but people too who still feel it’s our fault if we get
raped and people who still feel the length of our dress gives
them the consent to rape us. Enough of talking has been done
now its high time to put words into actions. Since every single
day we are losing one of our daughter’s. Let’s engage ourselves
in making this world a better place to live by encouraging
humanity and kindness over cruelty and violence. Let’s become
those voices whom people can hear out and evolve as a person
because nothing will change if the mindset doesn’t change
because women are one of the most incredible creations of
God who needs to be respected and honored without being
objectified and obligated to perform a certain duty.
