Selecting Nominees:

The Nomination Form is designed to provide the broadest possible base upon which to evaluate
candidates.

Chapters currently use a variety of models when selecting nominees. Some identify the senior with the
highest GPA as one nominee and the chapter president as the other (or VP if the president has the highest
average). Chapters can allow the membership to nominate and vote for the two seniors they wish to see
nominated. Other chapters use the Faculty Council as an ad hoc scholarship committee for the chapter if
this function isn't included in the school's scholarship committee duties. In this latter case, some chapters
will have all seniors interested in being the nominee complete the scholarship nomination form or compose
the essay to provide the council with some details from which to make a decision. On some occasions,
decisions on nominees are simply made by the chapter adviser or the school principal.
