Design Statement
This info Designer babies will be a reality sooner than later. To the extent we

allow it to affect society is up to us. With the introduction of designer babies come to

house of Socio economic, moralistic, and humanitarian applications. Designer babies

could change the course of history. I play in God we can alter what it means to be a

human. Someone tried to take a vantage of this, and some will succeed. Possibly

segregating society into a new system of social classes.

This infographic poses the question and examines the effect that designer babies

will have on social class. Social class is a huge part of a member of society’s daily life.

Social class is determined by many factors ingrained in society. These include

education, career, and wealthy. All of these determine the place held by an individual in

his or her civilization. Altering it will have great consequences, spanning from

economics, to education, to civil rights.

“Designer babies” is a term coined for the scientific process of gene

manipulation. In particular, embryos can be hand picked and designed to carry certain

genes. These genes can be used to prevent common diseases, ailments, and genetic

disorders. More concerningly, they can determine things like physical ability and

attributes, and even personality traits.
