Coming into this class, I was a little unsure at first because working with paper and materials is
not really something I am good at. But once we started learning how to make various types of
books, I found myself getting excited to learn more. I especially liked it when we made the
stitch books as all three of them came out very good and professional- looking. Despite having
a huge amount of work load, I was very satisfied with the end result and the books we ended
up making. Apart from learning how to make books, we even learnt tricks and tips to improve
our cutting, gluing and folding skills throughout the class. By the end of the two weeks, I
myself noticed a marked improvement in the way I worked with these materials. It was also
interesting how we correlated the content of the books to the form of the book (previously I
was used to only working on the content of a book, so it was fun to incorporate the structure
of the book as well). I had hoped to learn about pop-up books and the various techniques
associated with it, but we had too much to cover in 2 weeks. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the
class and would recommend this course to everyone.
