Structural Assignment 4

1. Business process architecture is an integrated system that collaborates to

analyze the data breakdown of a machine into a related preventive engine
maintenance scheduling using structured calculations, which also speeds up
the flow of information from the bottom to the top hierarchy by applying the
effectiveness of the decision making system.

2. The functions and roles of process hierarchy diagrams, data flow

diagrams, business process diagrams, business process models and
notations in reliability.
I. Process Hierarchy Diagram
A process hierarchy diagram (or functional decomposition diagram)
provides a graphical view of the functions of a realibility system and helps
to decompose them into a tree of sub-processes. PHD used most in
analysis phase of realibility cases to identify processes within the system
by name, and also decompose them into multiple levels of sub-processes.
II. Data flow diagram
A data flow diagram (DFD) maps out the flow of information for any
process or system. A DFD can often visually “say” things that would be
hard to explain in words, and they work for both technical and
nontechnical audiences, from developer to CEO.
III. Business Process Diagram
Business Process Mapping details the steps that a business takes to
complete a process, such as hiring an employee or ordering and shipping a
product. They show the “who,” “what,” “when,” “where” and “how” for
these steps, and help to analyze the “why.” Business Process Mapping can
be used to document a current process and to model a new one. Its purpose
is to gain a detailed understanding of the process, people, inputs, controls
and outputs, and then potentially to simplify it all, make it more efficient
and/or improve the process results. Here are more specific examples of the
uses of Business Process Mapping:
a. Compliance with International Organization for Standardization,
called ISO 9001. It’s used to conduct third-party audits of an
organization’s quality management, and Business Process
Diagrams are often a key part. ISO 9001 tries to ensure that a
company’s product is complying with government regulations and
meeting customer needs.
b. Internal audits. Businesses can ensure that they are meeting their
company standards, and that their processes are aligned with their
mission and goals.
c. Compliance with the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act, or SOX. It’s also
known as the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor
Protection Act, and it protects the public and shareholders from
accounting errors and fraudulent practices. It requires public
companies to disclose compliance issues. As with ISO, Business
Process Mapping plays a key role in SOX compliance.
d. Standardizing a process. By documenting a process, a business can
standardize it so that it’s always performed in the same, most
optimal way, reducing confusion and inefficiency.
e. Training employees. The mapping also provides a standard training
document for anyone to learn the process.
f. Improving a process. Once an existing process is mapped, it can be
analyzed for bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Business Process
Modeling can be used to model a better process.
g. Communication. Mapping provides visualization that may be much
easier to understand than narrative text would be. This can help for
interpretation and collaboration, either with an internal team or
external team or consultants.
IV. Business process model and notation
Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) is a flow chart method that
models the steps of a planned business process from end to end. A key to
Business Process Management, it visually depicts a detailed sequence of
business activities and information flows needed to complete a process. Its
purpose is to model ways to improve efficiency, account for new
circumstances or gain competitive advantage.

3. Component Process Hierarchy Diagram (PHD), Data Flow Diagram

(DFD), Business Process Diagram (BPD), and Business Process Model and
Notation (BPMN) 2.0 on enhancing reliability

Component PHD system of enhancing reliability machine:

-Operator : Record the machine failure time
-Engineering :Analyze the machine failure time, then reliabilty is
achieved, then making the maintenance scheduling and input
specification machine for provide the cost required if it
occurs failure to the finance, and notify the broken machine
sparepart. Receive the manager approval and receive the data
machine failure time.
-Finance : Receive the list of broken sparepart and total cost of
it.Approval the cost required for maintenance. Inform total
cost to the manager
-Manager : Approval the final cost that already calculated from
finance. Massage the supplier sparepart. Supervising the
system flow
-Inventory : Receive the sparepart from supplier ,informs the incoming
sparepart to manager. Receive a list of sparepart from
manager and inform incoming sparepart to manager.
Registering incoming and outgoing of sparepart to inform
the sparepart inventory to engineering.

BPD component system engine reliability increase consists of data flow

between processes at each level of the system being built, i.e:
1) -Labour : Input data breakdown (data kerusakan mesin), kemudian
-Engineering : analyze the machine failure time to make reliability
machine and maintenance scheduling
2) –Engineering : Input the specification machine and provide the cost
required if it occurs failure to maintenance, kemudian
- Finance : Recieved the list of broken sparepart and total cost of it and
informs the total cost to manager, kemudian
- Manager : Data of the list of broken sparepart is given to inventory and
massage the sparepart supplier to prove the sparepart broken, kemudian
- Inventory : Data of list of broken sparepart is received and registering
incoming and outgoing spare parts

DFD system components increase engine reliability, i.e:

- Labor(operator) provides data to engineering in the form of pasteurization
machine breakdown data, then increases reliability by calculating
reliability, scheduling maintenance, and calculating failure rates. Then the
data is given to the finance manager
- Engineering provides data in the form of a list of components from the
pasteurization of the damaged machine, then the component data and price
will be given to finance to calculate all totals and data is given to the
manager for approval, then the manager contacts suppliers to provide
components and coordinates with the inventory. After that, repairs to
preventive maintenance scheduling were carried out

Component of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0

Internal department:
- Operator : Record the machine failure time
- Engineering : Analyze the machine failure time, then reliabilty is achieved,
then making the maintenance scheduling and input specification machine for
provide the cost required if it occurs failure to the finance, and notify the
broken machine sparepart. Receive the manager approval and receive the
data machine failure time.
- Finance : Receive the list of broken sparepart and total cost of it.Approval
the cost required for maintenance. Inform total cost to the manager
- Manager : Approval the final cost that already calculated from finance.
Massage the supplier sparepart. Supervising the system flow
- Inventory: Receive the sparepart from supplier ,informs the incoming
sparepart to manager. Receive a list of sparepart from manager and inform
incoming sparepart to manager. Registering incoming and outgoing of
sparepart to inform the sparepart inventory to engineering.

External department:
- Supplier : Receive the massage from manager to provide the sparepart
component.
