Advertisement for appointment of ITS Consultant

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment of ITS Consultant on contract
basis in Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bangalore as per details given below:

The appointment will be purely on contract basis and
working on full time
Two Years and Extendable if it is acceptable to both
KSRTC and the Candidate.
The contract can be terminated by either side at any
time, by giving two months’ notice.
Currently, KSRTC is running Intelligent Transport System
at Mysuru City and Vehicle Tracking & Monitoring System
and Passenger Information System across five of its
Divisions. It is proposed to rollover the project to all its
fleet.

The selected Consultant will be required to work as

Subject Matter Expert in KSRTC relating to all the vehicle
tracking projects of KSRTC.

Their duties will entail, but would not be limited to, the
following:

 To review the existing projects and submit

technical assessment and recommendation
reports

 To recommend and implement the cost

optimization measures

 To develop Functional and Technical

Requirements; requirement analysis of hardware

development of implementation plan;
 To make relevant presentations to competent
authority at all project phases
 To assist KSRTC in floating tenders, evaluation &
procurement of vendors and System Integrators,
drafting contract, product testing and certifying,
monitoring and guiding installation and
commissioning, operationalising, vendor
management, contract management, capacity
building, knowledge transfer etc.
 To take up Comprehensive documentation and
certification to KSRTC for system/sub-system
acceptance and recommending payments
 To make site visits, interact with all stakeholders,
ensure successful implementation of the project
in time, mediate for dispute resolution if any
between KSRTC and Vendor,
 To undertake all other tasks assigned by KSRTC
management from time to time
KSRTC Central offices, KSRTC,Bengaluru and required
travel to project areas like Mysuru and other places
Full time in KSRTC ; Working Hours as per functioning of
Central Offices, KSRTC
Applicant should be Indian National
BE/B.Tech (Electronics & Communications) with PM
certified
Well versed with product design, specifications, bus
based ITS algorithm and essentials of ITS operations
Handled ITS project with minimum of 200 buses
Preference will be given to candidates with more than 20
years work experience in general and more than 10 years
of specific work experience in ITS
Skills with ITS Product design, development, algorithms
and project management
Consulting in Govt. and Corporate Sectors
Business and Strategic Planning
People Management and Vendor Management Skills
 Well versed with GPS, GPRS/GSM Solutions, telematics,
ITS hardware & software applications, integration of ITS
application, ITS based mobile application, analytics,
algorithms, database sizing, VMU design and
maintenance etc.
7 Remuneration & Entitlements Rs 1,25,000/- per month.

Allowance as applicable to Class-1 Sr. Officer

(Vehicle, Home orderly and News Paper)
No other benefits like Medical reimbursements etc.

In case the Consultants are required to travel

domestically as part of their duties, KSRTC will make
suitable arrangements.

The selected person is required to enter into a contract

with KSRTC in a prescribed format with effect from the
actual date of appointment as Consultant as per the
prevailing procedures of KSRTC
8 Reporting to Chief Mechanical Engineer (M), KSRTC and
Chief Systems Manager, KSRTC

The envelope containing the applicant’s details as
mentioned above should be clearly labeled “Application
for the post of ITS Consultant in KSRTC” and addressed

The applications should include a detailed bio-data listing the educational qualifications of the
candidate, their areas of expertise, details of publications in peer re- viewed journals (if any,) and
any prior work experience.
Self-attested copies of educational certificates and mark-sheets (from under-graduate level
onwards) should be included.
References from past employers may be included, but are not mandatory.
The application should include the contact details of the candidate, including residential address,
email ID and mobile numbers.
KSRTC will review the applications, and will shortlist candidates it considers suitable. The short-
listed candidates will be called for an interview in the KSRTC. The date, time and venue of the
interview will be conveyed in the Interview call letter. Candidates will have to make their own
arrangements to reach the place of interview. No TA/DA will be payable by the KSRTC to attend
the interview.
The final selection will be based on their performance at the interview and on the basis of the
information provided in the bio-data. The decision of the KSRTC on selection of candidates will
be final.
The last date for receiving applications is 15-January-2019. Applications received after the
closing date or without the prescribed documents or otherwise found incomplete or not in the
prescribed proforma are liable to be rejected and no correspondence shall be entertained in this
regard.
