I. INTRODUCTION

Football Club Barcelona is a sports center in Barcelona (Spain). It was

created as a football club on November 29th, 1899. One of the main
characteristics of F. C. Barcelona is its multi-sports character. In addition to
its main section, football, the club has four other professional sports:
basketball, handball, roller hockey and futsal. Among the five professional
sections, FC Barcelona has 39 “Champions Leagues”, which makes it the
most successful sports club in Europe, the only one that has achieved the
maximum continental title in 5 different sports.
It is one of the most popular teams in his country, the second with the
largest number of fans in Spain

II. FCB HISTORY

The Barcelona Football Club was founded on November 29, 1899 by a group
of twelve football fans, summoned by the Swiss Hans Gamper through an
advertisement published in the magazine “Los Deportes” on October 22 of the
same year. The original name chosen was " Foot-ball Club Barcelona ", in
English.
At the end of his first decade he won his first title, a Spanish Cup.
During the years 1910 the club took a great leap, reached the 3000
associates, becoming one of the most popular societies in Catalonia. In those
years it was when the nickname of "culés" referring to the club's fans became
popular.

III. FOUNDATION

The Football Club Foundation Barcelona is the social, humanitarian, cultural

and sports entity created in 1994 with the aim of promoting and providing
support to all those humanitarian entities. It also focuses on children and
adult communities that are considered vulnerable. Initially, the activities and
works carried out by the foundation were materialized through donations
from partners, sympathizers and business entities of the country that were
made up of honorary members, collaborators and protective members. It
also adhered to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals plan and
for the first time incorporated UNICEF advertising into the football team
jersey. As part of its social management, the foundation has collaborated
with other governmental and social entities to promote children's education,

sports, culture and health. Its main allies include UNICEF, UNESCO, the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Economic
and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), and others.

IV. SYMBOLS

 ANTHEM
The official anthem of F. C. Barcelona, officially called Cant del Barça
was created in 1974, on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th
anniversary of the club. The lyrics were written by Jaume Picas and
Josep María Espinàs, and the music was composed by Manuel Valls.
It is entirely written in Catalan, and in the official version is interpreted
by the Sant Jordi Choir. In recent years has been played by renowned
singers like Joan Manuel Serrat, on the occasion of different events
such as the commemoration of the club's centenary. In addition, the
directive chaired by Joan Laporta has encouraged various interpreters
and ensembles interpret it in the Camp Nou stadium, in the
prolegomena of football matches, versioning it and adapting it to the
most varied musical styles: pop, rock, rap, samba, rumba, and others.
One of the details that characterize the anthem is the reference to the
open and inclusive character of the club, which does not differentiate
the geographical origin of the followers; as one of the stanzas says,
"it gives us where we come from, whether from the south or from the
north, a flag unites us".

5
 SHIELD
The FC Barcelona Club shield is shaped like a "pot", divided into three
barracks. Inx the two superiors you can see the flag of Barcelona, that
is, the Cross of Saint George and the Catalan flagship. In the lower
quarter a ball appears on the blue and red colors of the club. In the
center of the shield, in a strip, the initials of the club, "F.C.B." appear.
After its foundation, the club used as its own shield the one of the city
of Barcelona as a way of expressing its connection with the city. This
shield remained in use until 1910.
The shield has changed little since that design of 1910 and the
changes introduced have been, in large part, aesthetic, with minor
changes in the outline of its profile.
The modern design of the shield is the work of an adaptation of the
designer Claret Serrahima made in 2002, which includes more stylized
lines, suppresses the points that separated the initials of the club,
abbreviates the name and reduces the number of points. The shield
has had ten versions, from the founding of the club to the present.

which enables it to host the Champions League, European Super Cup and
UEFA Cup finals, as has happened on 15 occasions. It is located in the Les
Corts district of Barcelona, along with other facilities of the club, such as the
Mini Stadium (Barcelona B stadium) and the Palau Blaugrana, the basketball

VIII. PLAYERS
More than 1000 footballers have worn the shirt of the first team of FC
Barcelona throughout its 114-year history.
The F. C. Barcelona has had several players who, playing in the club
azulgrana, have conquered the most prestigious individual trophies of world
football.
Five players of the club were awarded with the FIFA World Player Award that
accredited them as the best players on the planet (Romário, Ronaldo,
Rivaldo, Ronaldinho on two consecutive occasions, and Lionel Messi) and
six were awarded the Golden Ball that accredited them as the best players in
European football (Luis Suarez, Johan Cruyff on three occasions, Hristo
Stoitchkov, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Messi who made history in the club to
be the first youth squad to get it). Up to 20 times, a player of the club has
obtained the Ball of Gold, Silver or Bronze, in addition to other four occasions
in which a player has obtained one of these awards having played the first
part of that year in the club azulgrana; Ronaldo in 1997 and being a player of
Inter Milan, and Luís Figo in 2000 being a Real Madrid player they obtained
the Golden Ball having played the first part of the year in the F. C. Barcelona.
In addition, the club has had players with other major international awards
such as Allan Simonsen, Hansi Krankl, Diego Armando Maradona, Gary
Lineker, Michael Laudrup, Samuel Eto'o, Xavi Hernandez or Zlatan
Ibrahimović.
After the merger of the FIFA World Player with the Golden Ball, the FIFA
Golden Ball was created, where the club has had 8 nominations (Andrés
Iniesta twice, Xavi Hernández twice and Lionel Messi four times) and 3
awards ( all to Lionel Messi, who along with his previous trophy, is the player
with the most gold balls in history).
The F. C. Barcelona has been historically, along with Real Madrid, the club
that has had the best players in Spain, and one of the teams that has
contributed the most to nourish the Spanish national football team. The F. C.
Barcelona player who has played the most matches with the national team is
midfielder Xavi Hernández, who has played 133 games with the red team,
only being beaten by Iker Casillas.
The players who have played the most official matches at F. C. Barcelona
are: Xavi Hernández (767), Carles Puyol (593), Andrés Iniesta (558), Migueli
(549) and Víctor Valdés (535). On August 11, 2015, Andrés Iniesta and Lionel
Messi equaled Xavi Hernández as the players with the most titles in the

IX. RIVALRIES
The F.C. Barcelona maintains a strong rivalry with the Real Club Deportivo
Español, team of the city of Barcelona. The Barcelona derby is the name that
describes the matches between both clubs, the most representative of the
city. They have faced 195 times, of 110 games won by Barcelona, compared
to 44 of the Spanish team. Xavi Hernández is a footballer with more matches
played, with a total of 32, while Argentina Lionel Messi is the top scorer, with
32 goals.
The Culé team also disputed the so-called classic of Spanish football against
Real Madrid Football Club, one of the most important and transcendent
matches in the world. The audience exceeds 500 million viewers, is often
known by the press as the game of the century. Barcelona has won 90
matches against the 92 at Madrid, out of a total of 230 official matches. At the
national level, other teams stand out, such as Athletic Club and Atlético de
Madrid. Barcelona and Athletic are the most decorated clubs in the Copa del
Rey and have played seven finals, with a record of five wins and two defeats
for Barça.

10
Internationally, the clashes with several English clubs stand out; Manchester
United, Chelsea F. C. and Arsenal F.C, and in Italy with A.C. Milan. With the
exception of Chelsea, the balance is positive in the other international
matches, with Milan being the club I have faced the most with 19 meetings
between both clubs, this being the second most repeated club match in
Europe. (The most repeated is Bayern Munich-Real Madrid with 22 games)
Lionel Messi is the top scorer.

X. CONCLUSIONS

Barcelona Football Club is one of the oldest clubs in Europe and with many
fans around the world, it has star players like Messi and has 117 official
titles: 27 Spanish Cups, 23 Catalan Championships, 23 Leagues, 11
Spanish Super Cups, 8 Catalan Cups, 5 European Cups / Champions
League, 4 European Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 3 Cups of Fairs, 2
Latin Cups, 2 League Cups, 2 Club World Cups.

His best player, Messi, often considered the best player in the world, and
one of the best of all time, is the first player in history to have won, among
other distinctions, five times the Golden Ball, obtaining the first four
consecutively; in addition to receiving five Gold Boots.

I am a fan of this club since I was 9 years old and I have been following
Messi since he played for the first time there. Visca Barca!
