"My Heart's in the Highlands" is a 1789 song and poem by Robert Burns.
It seems that Robert Burns fond the nature and ambiance in the mountains.
Though it was never mentioned in the poem where he is at the time being, it can be
somehow concluded that he is in the city – a place where he felt the desire of going
back to the highlands. He reminisced the memories he had in the mountains, even
the chasing of deer. He expressed his extreme love to the highlands, that even though
he’s far away, it remains in his heart.
This poem portrays the love of nature by the author. His words were so
powerful in expressing his desire and longing for the mountains. However, he may
be apart from his beloved highlands, he has still this connection that’ll forever be in
his heart.
