Ms. Figueroa

Dear Ms. Figueroa:

My weaknesses in writing are that sometimes I do not know how to use punctuations in the

right place, and I also do not have a big vocabulary to use. One of my struggles is that I am not clear

with my purpose in my writing assignments. Coming into my senior year was very difficult because I

literally started to learn from the bottom. I could not find the correct word choice, and the structure of

my sentences was confusing. It was not clear what I was trying to say. My transition words were not

enough so I used to repeat the same transition word over and over again. This are some of the

challenges that I went through in this year.

Thankfully I have learned a lot in my writing assignments. I now know more transition words,

and I am not repetitive with what I say. It is normal to have a good process in writing because I have

being trying my best to success. The reflections and revisions made me realize what I was doing

wrong, and then how I had to fix it. Sometimes it was annoying but, necessary to be better in writing.

The revisions gave me benefits since we started doing it. If it was not for your comments, Ms.

Figueroa I would not have learn what 1 know now.

My social issue essay is the one that I am most proud of because it is so complete. At first it

was difficult for me because of my weaknesses, but then I started getting better. I followed all the

instructions and it ended up being a great essay. This essay was the one that I extended and it was not

hard because of my topic. I talked about an interesting issue that happens in today’s society and I
found a lot of information about it. It also helped me in how to do a good research and find the right

information. This assignment surprised me because I thought that I was not able to do a long writing

assignment but I did it and I succeed.

The portfolio will help every one of us, because it will make us realize al the process that we

have. At the same time it makes me feel proud of all the work that I have done in this year of school. It

shows that we are capable to do what we are supposed to do and more. Honestly it surprised me all the

work that I have done in the class and all the process that I have in my writing.

My writing accomplishments will help me in my future when I want to go to college or

university. It also can help me to do my resume when I want to get a job, to write it the right way.

Being good at writing is important because it helps you in the everyday
