High School Academic Reflection

Fall

You are now about twenty months away from high school graduation. Over the course of those
months, you will be starting to make decisions about who you are as a young adult, where you
want to be, and what you want to do with your life beyond high school. Take a moment to reflect
on where you have been and where you are going.

Think of a class that you have had success with over the course or your high school career. Why
do you think you were successful in this particular class? What did you do to help yourself?
What did your teacher do? What have you discovered about what works for you as a learner?

The class that I had the most success in was makers because I like working with my hands and i
really like make stuff. My makers teacher would help me when I asked if i needed help making
something. What I did help myself was that I would study and look up videos if i couldn't build a
certain thing. Things that i discovered that would help me work is focusing and listening.

Now think of a class that you have struggled with in some way. Why do you think you had a
harder time with this particular class? What did you do/not do that might have impacted the
experience? What might have helped?

The class I struggled with the most was math because I really wasn't good at math. The thing
that made my experience much worse was that I really didn't try.

At this point, where do you see yourself when you graduate from high school? College, J.C.,
trade school, work world, travel,....? At this point of my life I wanna go to the santa rosa jc and
study and get a hard working job.

What goals will you have to accomplish, academically speaking, in order to get yourself to
where you want to be? In order to accomplish this goal I will have to work hard and stay on my
work and be dedicated.

What SPECIFIC strategies could you adopt over the course of this year to help yourself?
In order to help myself I will have to pay attention more in class and always study to keep on top
of my work.
