Motivation – Keller’s ARCS Model

● Attention – To gain the attention of my students, I will pose a question relating to the
main character in the story. I will show a video clip.
● Relevance – To demonstrate relevance to the subject matter, I will use language
examples in which they are familiar with and relate to their experiences.
● Confidence – To create confidence, I plan to create challenging tasks yet make them on a
reasonable level for success in both learning and performance conditions.
● Satisfaction – To help maintain a sense of satisfaction, I will provide opportunities for
the students to use the newly acquired skills.
