The Conversation: What Others Are Saying

“It is often said that people who run small businesses do not know what occurs in
corporate business worlds.”
“Corporates apparently assume that they make more money than small businesses
because they have more customers/buyers.”
“While they rarely admit as much as they should, corporate businesses often taken for
granted that small businesses make things feel cozy and like home.”
The Art of Summarizing
In observation it is concluded that small businesses have a lot of the same rules and
regulations that corporates have they are just set to a different standard.
Overall, it is acknowledged that small businesses allow for people to grow in an
economical sense and a personal growth aspect as well.
Corporates do not deny that they view themselves to a higher standard because they
are known nationally but that does not mean small businesses do not matter.
The Art of Quoting
“In other words, small businesses are what makes towns unique and attract tourist.”
In making this comment, it allows you to think about places you had visited and the
places you enjoyed the most. Places I enjoyed the most were small towns with authenticity.
Corporates point is that they have more financial stability to where start up loans, etc are
not hard to pay back so therefore there is not pointless trouble with the government.
Ways of Responding to Source Material
My feelings on the issue are mixed. I do support small businesses position for the fact
that small businesses have always been important to my town and family but I find corporates
argument about w hy they feel regulation is important as well when it comes to how it affects
their businesses.
Though I concede that corporates have a right to feel as though they should be treated
equal, small businesses are affected in a bigger way because of the smaller scale they are put
on.
Corporates are wrong when they claim n egative impacts of small businesses, corporates
are right that i t would allow them more business because they would not have smaller branche
taking away attention from their overall products.
Saying Why It Matters
Ultimately what is at stake here is if small businesses have the same regulations/rules
corporates have, or if they have a different treatment since the circumstances are not the same.
If small businesses are right about t heir earnings, etc., then corporate businesses will
see some major consequences in their earnings/profits.
These findings challenge the work of earlier businesses, who tend to assume that they
are doing everything the correct way, when in fact they are probably not because they have to
have evidence that has not been found in the past.
