Writing about past experiences 
Part 1. 
 
1. Think back to a moment of your life when you did not feel so good (​sad, scared, angry, stressed,
run-down​).
2. Read the following questions and think about the things you will talk about to tell your anecdote.

● Where were you? At home? In a car? At a party? At university?


● How old were you? Did it happen recently?
● Who were you with?
● What were you doing?
● What happened?
● What were the consequences?
● How did you feel?
Part 2.
● Write your anecdote following these five stages: ​Introduction, Background, Problem, Resolution ​and
Comment​.
● Use the language expressions and phrases in the box to present your ideas in each stage.
● Give as much detail as possible to make your story sound more interesting.
