xi) DC driven Mini fans 2 nos. in Cabin. (Make & Model to be indicated).

xiv) 1 No. KRYKARD servo controlled voltage stabilizer of 10 KVA.
The Fabricator shall buy the items to be supplied/fixed in the mobile van after getting
approval from CPRI - Officer incharge.

3 Engine & Chassis a) BS IV compatible with speed governor.

b) Make: Eicher/Swraj Mazda/Tata/ISUZU/Ashok Leyland etc.,
c) Engine hood: Heat & Noise insulation material with pads.
d) Power: Minimum 70 KW
e) Chassis: Straight frame chassis
f) Suspension type: Semi elliptical multi leaf spring at front and back.
g)Shock absorber: Hydraulic, telescopic,double acting at front & back.
h) Wheel base of chassis shall be between 4200 mm to 4400 mm.
i) Towing hook – front and rear below bumper area

4 Driver Cabin a) The van shall have two compartments – Drivers cabin and Laboratory.
b) The length of Drivers cabin shall be between 1200 to1500 mm and width between
2100 to 2400 mm. c) The
Drivers cabin shall be fabricated in standard specifications adopting the various
standard regulations in vague.
d) Cabin shall be cojinted to the laboratory with a partition of 14 SWG rigid steel
structures.
e) A communication sliding window of 600x450 mm (LxH) shall be provided on the
partition with plain glass panels.
f) Standard Driver and Companion doors & seats (for 2 companions)
g) Mirrors on left & right side

5 Structural frame and a) Floor of the laboratory shalll be raised appropriately above chassis frame level for
panelling under carriage space.
b) Raisers on the chassis frame fabricated out of 5 mm thick steel plates, pressed into
C sections, sutably reinforced as required. c)
Entire space frame structure retained on the Chasis of vehicle by U clamps.
d) Cross beams to the floor - Steel channels of MC 100
e) Space frame grid constructed out of steel box sections of size 60 x 40 mm of 2 mm
sectional thickness. Supporting tube 40x40x2 mm, 40x20x2 mm and 30x30x2 mm.
f) No mudguard arches protruding inside the container on the floor.
g) The complete space frame to be painted with one coat of primer and two coats of
emulsion paint prior to panelling.
h) The upper space frame structure to be reinforced diagonally between each main
arch to transfer and distribute the stray stresses involved in running the vehicle on
bad roads.
i) All welding procedure carried out on the entire bus body to be done using Metal
Inert Gas of Metal Argon Gas welding machines.

Structural frame and j) The supporting frame structure pillars for walls, roof & cross members shall be of
panelling - 14 SWG steel CR tubes and Roof stick shall be of 16 SWG CR tubes.
Continued k) Cross members are to be mounted on chassis by ‘U’ bolt system with adequate cast
aluminum packing and suitable gussets at joints.
l) The outside paneling shall be of 50 mm thick aluminum sheet INDAL or JINDAL,
pressed into required sections.
m) Outer panel sheets stuck to the space frame with poly urathene high strength
adhesive.
n) No securing devices like screws/nails shall be used on the outer panel.
o) Inside paneling shall be of 22 gauge GI along with 3mm thickness ACP (Aluminium
composite panel).
p) The space between outer & inner panes must be insulated with min. 50 mm
thermos foam on all walls and roof of the vehicle to provide thermo cool insulation
with complete heat & sound insulation.
q) The top panel shall be FRP coated with 600 microns gauze and resin top.
r) Permanent cool toughened glass windows shall be fixed in aluminium channels.

Structural frame and s) All outside glasses stuck to the paneling with RTV silicone, sealant which maintains
panelling - excellent protection to water leaks.
Continued t) All laps & joints rendered leak proof with RTV silicone sealant.
u) Floor paneled with water proof checkered plywood 12 mm thick, the top of which
anti-corrosive paint coated aluminum chequered plates of 10 SWG suitably reveted
with high tensile aluminum rivets.

6 Laboratory section a) The length of Laboratory shall be between 7500 to 8400 mm and width between
2100 to 2400 mm.
b) Jack knife door with the material identified for inside & outside paneling with
locking facility.
c) Low floor steps shall be provided at the entrance of the door.
d) For windows permanent cool toughened glass shall be fixed in aluminum channel.
e) Gang way shall be covered with 1" thick rubber mat & a Carpet over it.
f) A sofa cum bed, Upper berth and 2 small sofas shall be provided at the rear side of
the laboratory as per the drawing.
g) Seven Teak wood working tables shall be provide as per the drawing and are to be
fixed to the floor with Anti vibration mountings - Double-U Shear (17/354 type)
dunlop make ( 6 nos for each table).
h) About 20-25 instruments shall be fixed on the table using Dunlop Anti vibration
mountings (two bolt instrumountings) with teak wood tray housing and welcrow
tape for each instrument.

Laboratory section - i) The inside of all the storage lofts in hatrack, Teak wood working tables and
Continued drawers shall be given a lining of 5 mm thick rubber mat.
j) All drawers to be provided with good slider channels with ball bearings.
k) All storage lofts in hatrack, teak wood working table and drawers shall be
provided with lock and key.
l) One number of SS sink (450mm x 450mm) to be provided in the laboratory on the
Teak wood table.
m) Inner height of the laboratory from floor level to inside rop roof shall be minimum
2000 mm.
n) 1 no. of KRYKARD servo controlled voltage stabilizer of 10 KVA shall be fixed in
the mobile van for incoming (230V) supply to the instruments.

7 Under carriage a) Under carriage space shall be provided to house DC battery, gas Cylinders (Arogn
storage & Oxygen gas), Inverter, main electrical control panel, storage space for accessories
etc.,
b) All under carriage compartments shall be provided with individual lock & key
including illuminating lights and are given a lining of 5 mm thick rubber mat.

8 Entry / Exit accesses a) One independent door for Driver
b) One independent door for cmpanions
c) One Jack knife door for the laboratory as per the drawing.
d) Low floor steps shall be provided at the entrance of the jack knife door.
e) All doors shall be provided with lock and key
f) All locks shall be concealed and of double safety latch design.
g) All doors shall be provided with high quality EPDM rubber pipe section rubber
weather seals.

9 Air Conditioner a) Ductable air conditioner of 4 Ton capacity (Carrier make) with ducting shall be
provided.
b) Inner unit shall be housed above the cabin with ducting inside the laboratory as
shown in the drawing and the outer unit shall be housed at the under carriage
compartment with proper ventilation and door and lock & key. c)
Suitable stabilizer with 25 meter supply cable & socket shall be provided.

10 Electrical work a) A cable tray (Aluminium or teak wood) of 6 inch breadth & 4 inch depth shall be
provided throught the laboratory as indicated in drawing along with cabling and 40
nos. of 5/15 amps universal sockets and switches.
b) 4 Square mm Fire resistant cable (withstand temp. 1000oC) to be used for cabling.
c) As the equipments and AC are to be energized form power source available at site,
Two independeent power supply system (single/Three phase) for AC and
instruments as the case may be with circut breaker, main switch, MCBs (minimum 6
nos.) alon with 25 meter cable for getting power supply.
d) All the circuit breakers, main swith, MCB,s and supply cables shall be housed in the
place indicated in the drawing - Electrical supply box.
e) Eight numbers of LED tube lights (2 feet) each operating at 230V AC shall be
provided inside the laboratory along with 2 nos of DC operated LED lights.
f) 6 nos. of AC driven mini fans are to be provided inside the laboratory along with 2
nos. DC driven mini fans in Driver cabin.

11 Hat racks a) Hat racks shall be provided as shown in drawing (250 mm height and 2 feet
depth).
b) Hat racks shall be made of polished 16 SWG aluminium sheets and the doors shall
be of 22 gauge GI along with 3mm thickness ACP with lock and key.

 12 Authority a) Any RTO permission required for fabricating the laboraory as per drawings is to be
permission & obtained by the fabricator.
Registration b) The fabricator shall provide forms 21, 22 and 22A for registration purpose with
RTO, indicating body building undertaken on chassis for the purpose of the
laboratory. c)
The complete responsibility of Registering the laboratory lies with the fabricator.
d) The Color of shell, logo, Name and other details to be written on the van as per
CPRI's requirement.

13 Chassis and a) The chassis model, make, wheel base and other details on which mobile laboratory
Interiors Details will be fabricated shall be clearly indicated.
b) One set of complete drawings viz., The plan, front view, rear view, left side view,
right side view, cross section etc. shall be provided indicating exact dimensions along
with the quotation/tender.

14 Warranty Warranty for 1 year from the date of delivery of Van at DMD, CPRI, Bangalore for
Chassis, Shell and all accessories.

15 Compliance of Compliance of the specification shall be indicated unambiguously in the column

specification provided.

16 Deviations The fabricator shall be ready to undertake any modificaitons/additions/deletions on

the suggestions of CPRI officials.

17 Customer list A list of customers (with details like name of contact person, address, phone No.) to
whom similar mobile facility fabricated shall be furnished.

18 Safety Safety regulations as per RTO shall be followed for fabrication of mobile van. Shock
proof & safety measurements as per relevant standards shall be incorporated while
fabricating the mobile van.

19 Demonstration The fabricator shall arrange to show similar mobile facility fabricated by him to any
other customer.

20 Company Status The fabricator shall have ISO 9001 certification.
