Analyzing the Data

Overall, the class as a whole got a D on the test. It appears that the students did better on

the addition questions than on the subtraction. This means that I need to change my teaching

method, change the test questions, or spend more time on the material when teaching subtraction.

Judging by his overall average and the averages on the individual topics, Juan mastered

all topics on the test. Cody mastered the subtraction and division questions but fell short with the

addition problems. And finally, Hugh mastered the addition portion of the test but needs

assistance in subtraction and division.

Analyzing the scores, Luke did not do well on any portion of the test. His scores are low

in all topics and will need assistance. Nathan needs more support in subtraction than in addition,

but all topics need to be addressed. Molly performed well in addition but needs more help in

subtraction.
