Work satisfaction in nursing is the supporting feeling to obtain maximal achievement in
providing nursing care. There are many factors which are related to nurses’ work satisfaction;
one of them is clinical supervision from the superior. The objective of the research was to
know the correlation between clinical supervision and mental nurses’ work satisfaction. It is
assumed that there is the correlation of clinical supervision which includes educative,
supportive, and managerial functions with work satisfaction of mental nurses. The Type of
the research was an analytic survey of explanatory study with cross sectional design which
was aimed to analyze the correlation of clinical supervision which included educative,
supportive, and managerial functions with mental nurses’ work satisfaction. The research was
conducted at Regional Mental Hospital of North Sumatera. The population was 144 nurses,
and 59 of them were used as the samples, taken by using lottery method. The data were
analyzed by 9 using univatriate analysis, bivatriate analysis with chi square test, and
multivatriate analysis with multiple logistic regression tests. The result of the research
showed that 55.9% of the nurses were satisfied in carrying out their daily duties or work
although the number of nurses who were dissatisfied was also high (44.1%). Supporting
function (p=0.004<0.05) and managerial function (p=0.001<0.05) had significant correlation
