[Verse 1:]

What would I do without your smart mouth

Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
Got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down
What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

[Bridge:]
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all, all of me
And you give me all, all of you, oh

[Verse 2:]
How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you're crying you're beautiful too
The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood
You're my downfall, you're my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you

[Bridge:]
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all, all of you, oh

Give me all of you

Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it's hard

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you

[Coda:]
I give you all, all of me
And you give me all, all of you, oh

Explained Lyrics

John Legend says that at times she talks to him with little respect but even then he admires
her. John talks of how she shows him affection one minute and the next she pushes him
away.

John Sings of how his girl is unpredictable, she does one thing now, then changes her mind
and does something different such that he is unable to keep up or understand her. He makes a
reference to her ‘beautiful mind’ a term that is used to mean an intriguing person or a genius
who is not considered sane. A beautiful mind was also the name on the movie about John
Nash a Nobel Prize winner who has schizophrenia.

He says he is enchanted by her and will accompany her through her journey in life although
he is unsure how he got to where he is but he figures all will be well. It may also mean that he
is extremely happy with his new wife.

John Legend uses this line to show how overwhelmed he is but he says he is still fine, It can
also mean that he is fully immersed into his relationship and is therefore fine. He says that
she is insane but so is he, it is probably a reference to the above beautiful mind.

John Legend then declares his total love for her in her entirety.

He loves her figure and her tips as well as her blemishes which she considers imperfect but
he finds perfect.

John Legend asks her to surrender completely to him and he will return the favour.

He uses these lines to show his total devotion to their love, he says that even when life is a
challenge, he still has someone to look forward to. He says that even though they may go
through patches that make him think all will not workout, at the end he discovers that those
patches were to his advantage.

John Legend comforts her that she still remains gorgeous even when hurting. It can also be
his own way of telling that he remains devoted to her even through her struggles and will be
around to smooth away whatever wrinkles that he can.

He admits that he is completely at her mercy, she is his inspiration but also his distraction
from that inspiration as well as his heart and soul just as rhythm and blues were considered to
be heart and soul. The singing and ringing, which he refers to, is this song which he felt
inspired to write earlier on in their relationship back in 2011 but was not released until 2013,
it was probably the urge to share his happiness with the world.

John Legend sings that they were comparing their feelings in a kind of way where each has to
show their side simultaneously and it turns out that they wanted the same thing, love.

He concludes by saying he will give her his total devotion and in return he asks that she do
the same.
