Abstract:

In this era we are so busy to tackle such small issues. Among this the very most important issue
is to groom our personality according to the trend of the society. We are moving towards success
and success, our dressing plays a vital role to reflect our personality. Keeping all the points in
mind we concluded to the business idea is that we should start tailoring online at reasonable cost
and duration. Many peoples including me suffer severe failure to get our dresses on time. Tailors
ask for a lot of money but still the results are not up to the marks. We have also conducted a
research through peoples of different age brackets. We are not only providing services to the
customers but we are also arranging a platform for those ladies and gents who have skills but
don’t have a good platform to show off those skills. We are allowing them to work with us in
safety environment. On our customers side we are providing them the facilities of door step. Our
representative will go to their home or office to take the measurements and their dress will be
getting ready within 48 to 72 hours, with assurance guarantee. The charges will depend on nature
of dress. We are also facilitating them with delivery of their dresses on their doorstep.
Executive Summary

Textile industry of Pakistan is the main industry of Pakistan which is contributing in shape
of revenue, employment and introducing new technologies in the country. The business of textile
and tailoring is very profitable.
DARZI ONLINE do the stitching of clothes (casual, corporate, sport clothes etc.) that will meet
the needs of male, female, young adult and children. Our target is to become one of the leading
brands in the stitching industry and we will ensure that every cloth that leaves our factory can
favorable compete with the best brands in the industry.

We select our workers from a pool of talented dress markers in Karachi and we will guarantee
that we give them required trainings that will position them to meet the expectation of the
company –DARZI ONLINE.

We have a plan to build a state of the cloth stitching factory in Karachi, therefore we agreement
with some manufacturers of sewing machines to produce customized sewing machines for us
that will give us the quality of stitching that we want. Our factory will be well equipped and we
will confident that we follow the trend in the industry.

DARZI ONLINE will stitch clothes for high end customers and also for low income earner; we
want to become one of the people’s choice where ever stitching comes. We will engage in
customized stitching for customers based on their demands.

We are quite aware that there are some clients such as sporting clubs, political parties, schools,
churches and organizations that would need quality customized clothes for specific purposes and
we are well prepared to deliver as requested.

The Business Development Plan for the DARZI ONLINE which is basically a small online
STITCHING unit with the capacity of stitching and other related machineries. The main target of
our business is to get attract a lot of employed customers and stitched according to requirement.
The current scenario of the country is not much supportive to this business because of utility
rates are increasing on the continuous basis and electricity is also very big problem industry
facing currently. But overall Pakistan has yet successful textile industry and in future chances
for stability and growth is very much high. Raw material(threads, button, lace,etc) is easily
available, labor rates are cheaper, skilled labor and management is also available all these factors
are contributing for the good survival of the business.
For this Business Development Program almost all the phases are deeply described from busines
s concept to financial overview. Complete and in-depth industry analysis, value creating process,
marketing and promotional strategies, manufacturing and delivering process is given in detail
and information from the industry. Employees are selected on the basis of their experience and
education.

INTRODUCTION:

Stitching of dresses are under the category of readymade Garment industry. Readymade garment
industry has occupied a unique place in the industrial scenario of our country by generating
substantial earnings and creating lot of employment. Its contribution to employment is very
significant. This industry provides one of the basic necessities of life. The employment provided
by it is a source of livelihood for millions of people. It also provides maximum employment with
minimum capital investment. Since this industry is highly labor-intensive. This project report is
prepared for the stitching as they find wide acceptance in markets. Any person having the
knowledge of cutting and stitching operations can easily set up such establishments.

Business Description:

We are going to start a business with our own stitching unit and our main products will be
clothes stitching.

We are starting our business from measure, Cut, stitching and Trimming (MCST) because we are
new in the market and have no well experience and have no clients in the market. So our starting
strategy is to work on MCST basis and get orders from customers. We have some good relations
with many peoples and we are hopeful to get maximum orders from these peoples. When we will
have good experience of stitching and will have good name in the market with our quality and
timely delivery then we will have a large number of customers.
Stitching Business is designed as a small scale stitching unit along with vocational training
Programs for the disabled persons and employment for rural women. It also provides maximum
employment with minimum capital investment. This project report is prepared for the
manufacture of Ladies garments, gent’s shirts and gent’s trousers as they find wide acceptance in
markets.

Value Proposition:

We will manufacture products according to orders given us from the clients. We will try our best
to fulfill their requirements and provide them the standard they require to maintain our clients
and expand our market. Our machinery is latest and we fulfill the basic requirement that is
completing orders on time to build our reputation in the market. Secondly we are new in the
market and we want to attract more and more clients in the market in the start so we will offer
low rates as to other stitching units. In this field even a single penny difference in the rates
results in big profits, so by offering low rates and cutting down our profit margin we will attract
clients.

Our target is to provide quality services according to orders given to us. As said above that very
big names in the market have booked their orders for many coming years but they also receiving
orders on the regular basis. So we are going to offer them our stitching unit which will
manufacture products for them as they require. Old stitching units have old machineries and their
production process is slow but with help of our latest machinery and well skilled staff and
professional management we will manage our orders timely but also with promised quality.

Weakness:

We do not take for granted the facts that we have weaknesses. In fact, the reality that we are
setting up a sewing business in a city with other smaller and larger sewing businesses might
likely create a challenge for us and infrastructure of city is also a hurdle in delivery and pickup.

Opportunities:

The opportunities available to us are unlimited. People are shifting towards e-commerce so its an
opportunity for us to come with this online tailoring business because people want a solution
from the problems of traditional offline tailors

The threat that is likely going to confront us is the fact that we are competing with established
sewing businesses and also there are other entrepreneurs who arelikely going to launch similar
business within the location of our business. Of course, they will compete with us in the market.

Another threat that we are likely going to face is unfavorable government policies and economic
downturn. Usually economic downturn affects purchasing / spending powers and unfavorable
Government policies can hinder the importation of some sewing materials from other parts of the

In this era we are so busy to tackle such small issues. Among this the very most important

Keeping all the points in mind we concluded to the business idea is that we should start tailoring
online at reasonable cost and duration. Our representative will go to their home or office to take
the measurements and their dress will be getting ready within 48 to 72 hours, with assurance
guarantee and timely delivery at their doorstep it will save the time of customers they don’t need
to go to the tailor personally, We are not only providing services to the customers but we are also
arranging a platform for those ladies and gents who have skills but are not have specific platform
to show off their skills. We are allowing them to work with us in safety environment.

Today's half of the world depends on online. With so many people using the internet it makes
sense for a business to move into online. So there is an opportunity of online tailoring with the
help of online tailoring business, we can bring out more customers as compared to traditional
tailoring.

time to go personally to the tailor and tackle all the hassles and problems regarding stitching of

Operation Plan:

The operating plan is the most important section of any business, no matter what is the size or
nature of business is. It is the area where we dig and fix more of the nuts and bolts of your
business, areas like: manufacturing, inventory and distribution. It is a plan that is prepared by a
component of an organization that clearly defines actions it will take to support the strategic
objectives and plans of upper management. Following are the parts that will be discussed under
operation plan:

An effective operations plan should be able to answer the following:

Who:

There will be 3 departments, one for men and another for women’s, and remaining will be
delivery department. The group men’s will head to the man’s department. Similarly, females will
work in the female’s labor department.

What:

Raheel and Mohsin will deal with all the activities relating with men’s labor. From hiring till
giving the wages.

Ramsha, Areeba and Erum will deal with all the activities relating wit female’s labor, from
hiring them to pay their wages.

Ahsan and Talha are responsible for the delivery of dresses. Accepts the customer’s request.
Taking the measurements of customers.

Raheel and Areeba are further asked to purchase the basic material of stitching such as stitching
machine, sewing needles, braid, fabric marking pens or pencils, measuring tape, scissors, cutting
board, threads, seam pepping, extra bobbins, iron machine and etc.

When:

As per according to our USP of our business we are allowed to deliver a dress in 48 hours. So
our labor will be asked to stitch a dress with in the time span of 3 to 4 hours.
How much:

Our group mate have calculate the amount of per dresses. Simple dresses of men’s dress will
charge 900 PKR, embroidered suit will be charged for 1200-2000 PKR and sherwani / coat / pant
/ waist coat will be charged 2500 / 4000 / 2500 PKR respectively.

Similarly, ladies simple suit will charge 900 PKR, embroidered kurta shalwar will charged 1200-
2000 PKR and Bridal wear will cost up to 3000 – 5000 PKR.

Our fixed for sewing machine, shop rent, utility bills and other things will cost Rs, 12,000, Rs.
30,000, Rs 15,000-20,000 and 5000 more respectively.

25 to 30% of a price will be given to labors are their wage. 5 to 10% price will be utilize for
delivering purpose, 30 to 35% will cost up for rent, bills etc. Remaining 30 to 40% will be our
profit per dress.

Goals and Objectives:

The key to an operations plan is having a clear objective and goal everyone is focused on
completing. In this section of your plan, you'll clearly state what your company's operational
objective is.

In order to create an efficient operational objective, think SMART:

Specific: Our prime aim is to achieve the trust of customers. We want to create a word of mouth
that stitching can be done at all its lower cost plus at efficient time.

Measurable: We want to achieve a number of customers by giving them quality controlled


services at their doorstep in less the time.

Attainable and Realistic: The time span we have decided to proceed our service is up to the
mark. We have conducted an interview sessions in which the labor has told us that a single dress
need 7 to 8 hours of a day to be get ready with all compilations and extras.

Timely: the deadline for each labor is 2 to 3 hours of working for stitching a single dress. Half
an hour is the max more time to complete the task.
Production Process:

After you create your objectives, you have to think strategically on how you're going to meet them.
In order to do this, each department (or team) needs to have all the necessary resources for the
production process. Resources you should think about include the following:

Suppliers: We will purchase sewing machines from singer plus.

Equipment and Technology: following are the components that falls under this heading:

Technology team: We will give contract to a person who will make us a web page and software
that accepts the orders from customer along with their complete details of dress and place to
deliver and person to contact. The very first things to make sure about web page is the safety of
data provided by the customer. For this only and only Ahsan will have complete check and
balance of orders given by customers.

Marketing Team: We will market our services through pamphlets and web advertisements.

Sales team: We will only need a computer for handling data and to work on it we will train our
group member Ahsan.

Cost:

Following are that we will needed for all our operations:

 Rent of shop will cost 30,000 to 35,000 PKR.


 Sewing machines will cost 12,000 per machine. We need 8 machines that will cost
96,000 PKR.
 Utility bills including ptcl bill and electricity will cost for 20,000 PKR.
 Other material for stitching like threads, needles etc will cost for 5,000 PKR.
 Demanded amount by a software and web page maker.

In addition to the production process, you'll also need to describe in detail your operating
process. This will demonstrate to investors that you know exactly how you want your business to
run on a day-to-day basis.
Location:

Under this heading the address should be provided, that where will setup our business. Correct
location helps to achieve competitive advantage. In some cases, setting up a small business in a
busy area can cost more in rent and leasing cost, Small business having small budgets should
locate themselves in a remote area to avail the advantage of less outweigh of extra costs.

Our Location: We have chosen such a prime location for our business activities. Our
workshop is located at Gulshan-e-Shamim. We will rent out a double story so that on one floor
our women can work. We will assure them about their security, this factor will help them to
work efficiently in the given work time.

Work Hours:

As we are coming up with a service industry plus online business, we are open 24/7. Whole day
we will be accepting the request of customers. Working hours for our labor will be duty of 9
hours i.e. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, including 1 hour break for Namaz and lunch. Total working hours
will be defined as our workers have to work for 8 hours to meet their target given by the
management team. Our labor will work for 6 days a week, from Monday to Saturday As our USP
is low pricing and shortest of time in stitching and delivering dresses to customers, our labor
should be skilled enough to work under pressure with upmost quality.

Personnel:

We all members will be the part of our management team. Following is the distribution:

 Raheel and Mohsin will look into the men’s area. They will evaluate the men workers.
 Talha and Ahsan will deal with the online request and make sure to deliver them on their
expected time.
 Ramsha, Areeba and Erum will deal with the Ladies worker and help them to make more
efficient in their work.
 Further we will hire 4 men’s and 4 women’s as our stitching labor.
 2 men’s and 2 women’s will further work on the as delivery boy and measurements
respectively.
 There will be 2 peons, 1 at men area and other will be in women’s area.

There are total 21 peoples working together for running a business. Since we have started our
work on small scale, so we are having less number of labor. We will be increasing it at time
when we will enough stable to have profits.

Below are common milestones new businesses should plan for:

Hiring:

For hiring a labor, the candidate has to pass a short practical test and an interview. We will their
skills of stitching. Things will be examined at time of hiring are working under pressure, how
much time they take initial to cut the dress and then stich it according to the requirements, what
types of design are they able to shape their given dresses.

On labor perspective, they will receive wages at the before the start of next week i.e morning of
the Monday. Since we are giving them wages, leaves and off are depend on the labour, but still
not to collapse a labor is allowed to have 3 days leave per month. He/she will be fire if found on
leave more than 3 days.

Production Milestones:

Production milestones keep business on track. These milestones act as "checkpoints" for your
overall department objectives. For instance, if you want to create a new app by the end of the
year, product milestones you outline might include a beta roll out, testing, and various version
releases.it includes:

 We will provide a picture of demo dress at times of testing a labor, will be uploaded to
our website and will kept in display at our shop.

Ramsha, Areeba and Erum are about to inspect the women’s dresses.

collect the clothes that they gave their tailor to work on. So, it’s a good time to start online
tailoring business which can solve these problems we provide the convenience to people that
they don’t have to waste their time is such things we will pick their clothes from their doorstep
and after stitching we will deliver it on their doorstep.

We also have collected feedback of people through questionnaire regarding this new venture and
most of them responded positively that it’s a good idea, it will save their time and they want this
service in the market

Industry Feasibility:

As we all know that population of Pakistan is increasing day by day that gave rise to textile
industry because of its basic need many brands are available in the market different varieties are
there in the market so industry is attractive we are providing the service which people want to
have. We have also visited different tailors and ask them about the growth of tailoring business
they answered that this industry is growing day by day different trend and designs are coming in
the market and there is need of this type of services. We have also conducted a small research
from the people who are doing this business according to them they are generating enough profit
and their customers are increasing and they receive good feedback from customers as well.

Our target market who is working people wants to have this service available so that they can
save their precious time and can avoid hassles they face from their offline tailors.

Organization Feasibility

We have visited different tailors (male and females) who are skilled but don’t have platform and
capital to start a business and wants to have a platform where they can show their skills. We have
good management team who can satisfy and meet the demands of the customers. We have good
tailors they have knowledge of current fashion and expertise as well. We have riders for timely
delivery and we have different services available in the market like UBER, CAREEM, BIKEA
and public transport for pick and drop of our representatives and lastly we have professional
supervisors for checking and management of overall quality and work.

Raw material of good quality is easily available in Karachi like threads, niddles and other parts
of sewing machine. Skilled machine repairers are also available in the market.

Total start-up cash we need to start this venture is approximately 5 lakh which include (cost of
sewing machines 4 for females and 4 for male, utility bill expense, shop rent and advance(6
months) , other accessories expense and wages of tailors for one month) This is our overall

Intrepretation: Our target market is both the genders i.e Male and Female. So, as per
requirement of our bisuness there is an equal ratio of male and females in survey questionnaire.

Interpretation: As per requirement, we are targetting to the working audience of the town. Now
a days, fashion trends are very much popular among teenage groups fall under the age bracket of
18 to 26 that’s why 57.7% of the survey is conducted from these audience. 25.5% of the survey
falls under the category of 26 – 30, and remaining 18% falls between the age group of 31 and
above.

Interpretation: Since fashion trends ar so popular in teenages and alos they are not employed to
anywhere, but then again grooming is also consider a very important part of life of an employer,
so our targetted occupation is of 58.6 – 36.9 ratio, with respect to unemployed and employed
respectively.

Interpretation: Our target market is the middle class of the city, and also there is a mixture of
employed and umemployed audience. Greater part of our audience is dependend on their
stipends rather than on pay rolls.

such reasonable prices and doorstep delivery services.

make sure that online tailoring is trust worthy with many benefits for the remaining audience.

Interpretation: People have long relations with their old tailor, that’s why they are still more
satidfied with their old tailor. But also there are number of peoples who are not fully satisfied
with their tailors.

Question 4: What complain you have from your tailor?

Interpretations: There are different types of issue that are faced by customers with their tailors
such as delivering the dress not on time, overpricing, fault in stiching etc. We will try best to
look into these issue and try to solve at best. Low pricing is considered as most important factor
and also this is our USP.
Question 5: How many times you have changed your tailor?

Interpretation: Many of the peoples has cnaged their taior only 1 to 3 time and 34% of the
audience has changed it 4 – 6 times.

Question 6: How many times your tailor failed to meet the delivery time?

Interpretation: 38% of the tailor fails to meet the deadline less than 5 time per customer, and
the ramaining 62% tailors fails to deliver the dress most of the time. The very main issue in
delaying the delivery is non-supply of electricity.

Interpretation: There are lot of qualities found in a good tailor, and all are on equal bases, for
example: stich in time, stich in low price, fulfil all instructions given by you, have knwwledge of
new fashion and trends.

tradition and most useful way of getting potential customers because by doing online business
you get the opportunity to connect with wide range of customers from different locations.

Our business is to provide service of online tailoring service as we all know that in this fast pace
era people have not much time for themselves. Our main target audience are professional
working ladies from the age group 20 to 45+ and our main focus is to switch our target audience
from the local to online tailors.

The main focus of our marketing is through digital marketing we will make our page on
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter in which we will upload all the new fashion outfits to grab our
customer attention. Because social media plays a very vital role to achieve market audience on
the other hand we will promote our business through ads on mobile application like popup ads as
well as we will distribute our pamphlets in residential areas and we will also do some social
activities at Shopping malls through which we can get attention of customers.

We can add different mediums of media like magazine ads so we can attract our actual target
audience. We can offer 20-30% off in our service for 1 month so they can get aware about it and
stay loyal to us for a good time period. And in this time period we can have an idea about our
weakness and strength through we can grow our business and market share of our business.

SEM (search engine marketing) after 2,3 months will help us to tell our target audience about our
services in best way. And ROI (return on investment) will guide us to make our further
marketing plan.

Our business is to provide online tailoring service at customer door step as time is
moving fast people are so busy now a day and they don’t have much proper time to go at
tailor shops to stitch their clothes. So we are giving online platform for them to just book
the appointment with us, our respondent will go at their place and take the dress, sizes
and all other required information regarding their stitching clothes.

Our main focus is to create awareness about good quality product so people can use our
services in a very reasonable price our competitors are the local tailor that stitch clothes
at very high cost so our challenge is to provide best stitching clothes at customers door
steps with low cost.

We have decided so many promotional activities to create awareness about our business
through:
1. Social media adds (Facebook, twitter, instagram).
2. Door to door pamphlets distribution.
3. Distribution of pamphlets in super markets.
4. Distribution of shoppers in malls with name of our brand.

6. Pop up add on mobile applications.
