I am writing in response for the position of Media Relations Intern for the 2019-2020 season
within the Houston Rockets organization. I believe that my education, qualifications, and
professional experience make me a strong candidate for this position.
I am a dedicated, hardworking, organized, and reliable professional who demonstrates teamwork,
critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills while
producing in a fast pace environment.
I have attached my resume, which includes more details about my background and work
experience, and how they add value to this position. As you can see, I serve as the Athletics
Department Media Relations Intern at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). I also have
experience serving as the Game Day Operations Intern for WSSU’s Athletic Department.
Furthermore, I worked as a Journalist for The Argus Newspaper (school paper). In these
positions, I serve as a media contact for sports as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for
Media Relations. In addition, I aid in maintaining historical records, statistics and photographs
among other important department information. Also, I assisted in writing and researching
accurate stories for The Argus Newspaper. Finally, I assist in responding to and managing media
requests, interviews, news conferences and photo sessions.
I am confident that I would be an asset to the Houston Rockets orgaization. I look forward to
