Gibbs Gardens Now Accepting Submissions for Second Annual Photo

Contest

ATLANTA, April 14, 2019 – Gibbs Gardens, a 200+ acre facility that is home to
hundreds of flower festivals each year, is now taking submissions for their annual photo
contest. The event is strictly limited to amateur photographers only, and the goal is to
highlight their work on the Gibbs Garden online page, as well as at the upcoming Water
Lilly festival.

The deadline to submit a photograph will be on September 20, 2019, at 5 p.m. All photos
must be taken on premises at Gibbs Gardens, located in Ball Ground. Their will be an
entrance fee at the gate just past the main entrance, and the pricing is available online.

Any photo from the time period of March 2017 to September 2019 will be counted as a
valid submission, and there will be multiple categories for photographers to focus on.
Flowers, landscape design and water lilies will all be points of emphasis during the
contest. All submissions sent to Gibbs Gardens will rightfully belong to the photographer,
but permission must be given in order to allow Gibbs Gardens to use the images.

There will be a tiered prize system; with the first place winners receiving a prize of $200,
second place $100, and third place to receive a 4-season membership. Images with people
or pets in the foreground will automatically be discarded; therefore photographers must
focus on capturing the scenery only.

At the Water Lilly festival in October, the contest winner’s photos will be displayed for
all to see. Gibbs Gardens founder Joe Gibbs will be in attendance, and plans to personally
congratulate the winner on stage. “Last year we had a lot of incredible submissions. Its
truly amazing when we get a submission that perfectly highlights all the hard work and
dedication we put into our gardens,” Gibbs said.
