Maximum allowable clearance (loosest fit) between respective shoulder and counterbore that serves to center one piece with another is shown in accompanying table. a. All clearances are measured on diameter. b. “Negative” clearance indicates force or press fit. 3. Measure parts at two or three locations equally spaced on circumference. 4. If average fit determined from measurements in step 3 is larger than corresponding fit in table, replace one or both parts involved.
