PowerPoint: Do's and Don'ts

Overview and Purpose: 
This lesson is to assist and improve your ability to create 
successful and comprehensive PowerPoint presentations. 
  
Lesson One, Design Basics in Presentations: 
Elements of Design: 
Color Space 
Line Form 
Shape Unity/Harmony  
Texture 
 
Lesson Two, Images in Presentations: 
We will be learning how to insert images into PowerPoint, and 
use the Elements of Design to add them to your presentation. 
 
Lesson Three, Presenting: 
We will cover presentation tips for successful speaking and 
sharing about PowerPoint. 
 
What to expect: 
Today we will be creating an “All About Me” PPT Presentation 
using the above mentioned Elements of Design. Using your 
personal favorite color (and including it in your “About Me!”), 
create a 5-7 slide presentation.  
Today’s focus will be on text, image layout and information. 
We will be sharing as a class! 
 
Objectives: 
1. The knowledge and usage of the Elements of Design 
benefit one’s presentation. 
2. We learn what kinds of artistic elements are shown 
through comprehensive presentations.
